Garrett Wang on his original role in PIC S3.

The alliance was a common assumption, but all that was said onscreen was that the Romulans were using Klingon ship designs. They could have been stolen or purchased.
I was going to reply that the Klingons got cloaking tech out of the deal, but Discovery kind of blew that out of the water didn't it?

ETA: Oh, wait! There is this bit of dialogue from Worf in The Neutral Zone -- "These are Romulans. They are without honor. They killed my parents in an attack on Khitomer when they were supposed to be our allies."

So there. :nyah:

Well this is news to me, and I'm glad it didn't happen! Poor Harry finally making Admiral only to get vaporized!

I've actually wondered if President Hanson's husband in the Confederation timeline was originally meant to be Harry Kim.

It came out in an interview with Robert Beltran a while ago that it was supposed to be Chakotay, but he didn't see the point in cameoing as Evil Chakotay, so it just ended up being some guy.

I think that was the wrong choice all around, it's a topsy-turvy bizarro world where everything is different, it wouldn't reflect badly on Chakotay-Prime, and even if Beltran was unmovable, they could've picked anyone and it would've been more interesting and suggestive than an all new character. Wesley Crusher. Nick Locarno. Julian Bashir. Jim Kirk. Gen Reyes, inexplicably alive and/or time-traveled from a hundred fifty years earlier. Hugh Laurie as a thinly-veiled pastiche of Dr. House.

Or at least restage the scene. "Seven is married! But, to whom? There he is, it's...!"

If you don't frame it as a reveal, the audience won't be disappointed as an anticlimax. Just have him come in, then drop that he's her husband and not just her viceroy or secretary or whatever.

Those shows never showed that far into the future.
Kurtzman: let's jump to the 26th century
Beyer: ENT showed that with the Enterprise-J

Kurtzman: ok, go 29
Beyer: uh, VGR did that already

Kurtzman: for fuck's sake, go 31
Beyer: ENT had a character from the 31st century

Kurtzman: fucking canon, ok 100 years after whatever they did last... we're going to throw whatever it was away anyway
Beyer: uh, you want to put 32nd century in your script then

Then there's Living Witness...
And still an EMH clone out there, making his long way home.

Speaking of holograms, if they wanted an Admiral Kim, they could have a hologram of him teaching at Starfleet Academy. Maybe recreating situations he was in during his days as a captain.

GARRET WANG should be HAPPY he wasn't PART OF THE BUDGET beacuse they needed to spend 10 MILLION on BALENCEGIA CLOTHING for STAR TREK SECTION 31.

Your capitalisation is quite perplexing and Im pretty sure I didnt see a single balaclava in Section 31. Perhaps I should rewatch it this weekend to double check, I will let mr paramount know to thank you for the extra view.

If you want more Section 31, go for it. But that didn't work for Lower Decks or Picard, so whatever.

I like the idea of Shelby appearing more than Harry and it's nothing against Harry, but he had a 7 seasons run of a show and Shelby had two episodes. It's the same thing about seeing Ro and Jellico again.
