Agreed, but, GOG does a darned good job of making older games "just work" on new PCs so non-techies can play them without having to become techs, or beg us elder grognards to get them working for them. (And for that matter, some of us elder grognards might want to play without having to spend our valuable time fighting with config files, too.
)

Got it last year when it was going for $20, it's definitely worth snapping it up.

ETA: Nevermind, I got it through the website storefront instead of through the client. I guess there's some weird bug with the Origin client that stops you making "purchases" directly? Seems odd.

Oh yeah I've had that happen in the past. Logged out of the client and log back in seemed to fix it for me.
