Galavant, Second Season

And the song with the squire leading a revolution to the castle that peeters out was a parody of Les Miserables.

This got me wondering; how many of these songs are direct parodies of other musicals? I don't think I've noticed it before tonight's episode...

I had the same thought. I know a fair amount about musicals, but I haven't noticed any other direct parodies like those two.
I was disappointed they recast Galavant's father, in a flashback last season he was played by Anthony Stewart Head, but he was somebody else last night.
The stuff with the giants and dwarves was funny.
I really hope Bobbie sticks around, I like her a lot.

According to IMDB her name was Sheridan Smith. She seems to have done a lot of TV work, but I'm thinking it must have been mostly in England because the only one I even recognize is Holby City, and I only recognize that one from other English actors' credits.

I think I'm going to be waiting for that moment for the rest of the season.
One I other thing I got a kick out of was how casually they had Isabella lose the crown. Instead of some big dramatic moment where someone grabbed it off her, it just fell off during Jubilee's song.
I'm getting Tangled off of Netflix as one of a bunch Disney and Pixar movies I've been rewatching, and I'm looking forward to watching it again even more now that I know it was written by Dan Fogleman, the creator of Galavant.

^ I love Tangled!

Last night was hilarious and the songs were all wonderful. Is the finale next week or did ABC order more episodes than the 8 from season one?

The final episodes air on Jan. 31st.

As much as I like back-to-back episodes, I kind of wish they only had one a week, so it lasts longer.

I'm glad the mind-control plotline didn't last too long. Goofy Isabella was getting on my nerves. Tough-girl princess was pretty cool. :D

And so Wormwood can only be defeated by the One True King who wields the One True Sword or whatever-- it all starts to come together.

And, yeah, I'm thinking the lizard is a dragon. :mallory:

So I guess it's up to Richard to stop Wormwood. Somebody better tell him about the sword. After they find a way to save Galavant from bleeding to death.

I miss Vincenzo and Gwynne:(

Yeah, I was disappointed we didn't get anything with them this week. I really hope they aren't gone permanently.
The Forest of Coincidence was fun to.

I know a few episodes back they left Hortensia but I'm hoping they cross paths with our merry little band of misfits soon!

The Forest of Coincidence would be one of the best places to get lost.

I'm not sure if that would even be possible, it seems to me that it would be pretty much inevitable that you would run into some kind of a coincidence that got you out of there eventually.

Ah, I thought you meant it was somewhere you would not want to get lost.
