News Fuller exits American Gods........

As much as I enjoy the stuff he has worked on he strikes me as rather uncompromising in his work. Can't see that leading to a good/productive working environment.

Yes if $10 per episode isn't enough.......and THAT is what really made him leave, then damn.

This guy really seems to like spending other people's money. $10m an episode? Jeez, how is anyone going to make a decent return from that?

I keep thinking I'd like to go back to try the show again - does this mean that S1 doesn't coincide with the end of the book?

dJE

Season 1 covers maybe 1/4 to 1/3 of the novel.
With the stuff that worked the best bring stuff expanded from the novel (Laura’s story).

I was looking forward to season 2, as I expected it to be more consistent than season 1. This is a let down.

This further supports the idea Fuller was fired (or stormed off in a huff) rather than leaving on neutral terms due to competing obligations. It also explains a lot about why Discovery is the way it is.

I'd have to conjecture that a good deal of Discovery's somewhat confused vision in the first several episodes was based on Fuller's path vs. the path and style of the writers and producers who took over.

If that's true, I'd much rather Fuller not return. DSC seems to have only gotten increasingly better as it has progressed, which to me indicates that I probably wouldn't have liked Fuller's full-on version of Star Trek. It will be interesting to see what the new staff does once they even more distinctly separate from that vision.

Watched the first “God’s” episodes. Not impressed. Slow ponderous eye candy. Kind of like the Klingons. Stopped.

Not surprised at this outcome.

Just guessing and inferring from Fuller's Klingon's, he had a show he wanted to produce and it was very different from the Star Trek that cbs wanted to air. I wonder if he also ran into/created issues with Gaiman, now that rumors are here and there Gaiman might get more creative control over American Gods. Well anyway, I wish him the best of luck in his endeavours.

1. Paragraph 1 looks like a Strawman - build up an argument on speculation and make a conclusion with no facts but the speculation to knock him down.
2. Paragraph 2 is an assumption that cannot be proven without going back in time to rerun history with Fuller staying with Discovery.

Wow, this guy can't finish a project.

Now this one is based upon solid observation, and stole the exact words I came here to post. LOL.

Fuller was let go. A new creative team took over. People like Beyer were taken on board. The first four episodes were already filmed when they began retooling STD. I don't see the strawman.

Vger did specify it was conjecture. The accusation that Vger is trying to knock him (Fuller) down is a little over the top.

Ummm, that's almost all that ever goes on around here... assumptions and speculation. Take that away and there are only cute kitten pics.

I'm not sure what you're trying to prove, but posting speculation with no facts is what the internet is all about. I'm not trying to do anything other than speculate and state my opinion about things.

Have a nice weekend.
