Full character names

Vice Admiral

What are the full names of Chakotay and Tuvok and Neelix and Kes? I can almost understand Neelix and Kes being without a family name. Is it a Vulcan thing for Tuvok to be just that, like say Spock was just Spock? What about Chakotay?

Spock's other name was apparently unpronounceable to humans according to This Side of Paradise.

They gave him a name in one of the novels but those aren't canon and we can just ignore it since unlike Nyota (which was a fan given name originally) it did not catch on.

It's an odd thing but aliens often have only one name just as they have only one clothing style, one religion and one unifying cultural trait.

Chak, no other name was ever stated. Maybe not enough personality for two names?

And yet a lot of one-episode only Humans get full names. Granted, many in display screen personnel files or script notes you're likely not to see.

Those were their full names. One way you can tell is when they are being addres by their rank. If Chakotay had a last name he would have been by that

And that is one of my pet peeves about Trek. And a lot of time their names are so similar. The writers have gotten some better at it. But you have to admit, there's a lot of Klingon names that start with a K. A lot of Vulcan male names start with an S and end with a K. Female Vulcan names are often T plus apostrophe then the rest of the name. All Talaxian names have an X in them.

In Workforce didn't he tell Janeway (who had her memory repressed) that his name was Amal Kotay, but that people called him Chakotay. I assumed that it was something he made up since he went in disguise, right?

Was there an episode where Q called him Chuckles? Or is that just a fan thing?

I assumed Amal was something he made up. And yes, Q called him Chuckles

Well yeah people had nicknames.

The x's in Talaxian names is particularly cringe. Is there any culture on earth where all names have one unifying aspect? Can't think of any..

Chakotay's first name was Dave.
Neelix' family name was Vaxim
Kes's name in Ocampan was pronounced
K'hh E'shh.

Vulcans are like Klingons.
Worf Ben Mog
Spock Bar Sarek
and so on...
