Favorite 'Little' Moments Of TNG...

"A Matter of Perspective" - Data critiquing Picard's painting. I couldn't stop laughing, but even though Data was trying to be kind with his assessment, I felt bad for Picard. Data is one of the very few people, I think, whose opinions TRULY matter, to the point that we never see Picard paint again. It reminds me so much of the scene in "A PIECE OF THE ACTION" when Spock tells Kirk, as he parked the car, "You are an excellent starship commander, but your driving leaves much to be desired."

The episode where they bring the One Borg on the ship, Picard and Guinan are fencing and the camera does a shot of Picard's foot.
Just his foot on screen. It cracks me up.

Worf and Guinan at the phaser range.
Worf says "I play at level 14"
Guinan "I guess I can come down to that level for a while."
Worf's look when he turn to her is great.
Guinan shoots off the first few shots, without even looking, not missing a shot. Worf, with some concentration misses a few shots. Meanwhile Guinan just keeps shooting without any effort. In the end, after the game was over, Worf harumphs.
Guinan says "Don't feel bad, I've been doing this long before you were born.

I love the scene in "Booby Trap" where Picard, about to get onto the transporter platform, starts rhapsodizing about the joys of building ships in bottles. When Worf and Data (and Riker, I think?) look blank, Picard says impatiently, "Didn't you ever build a ship in a bottle as a boy?" They demur, Data noting, "I was never a boy." O'Brien, running the transporter, chimes in, "I did!" Smiling, Picard beams away, while the others look at O'Brien as if to say, "Suck-up!" Says O'Brien, a little defensively, "I did. Ships in bottles. Great fun."

It's a cute, great little moment :) Ruined a little for me by the fact Worf reacts like he had no idea what it was, but we already seen him building a ship in a bottle the previous season in "Peak Performance"! :D :D :D

But an honorable Klingon doesn't Admit to building ships in bottles.

Data asking Beverly to teach him dancing. They started with step dance. Data was quite a quick study. And Beverly was reminded of her reputation as The Dancing Doctor.

"Firstborn" - When the Duras sisters talk about someone tarnishing their 'good' name. I already thought that was funny. But when Worf says, "You cannot tarnish a rusted blade."

I always laugh at that. Spot on, sir. Spot on.

In "Lower Decks" there is a scene like a still photo of Worf looking out the open shuttlebay Ensign Sito has left with her supposed Cardassian captor. His posture telegraphs his pain.

In the episode "The Offspring":

Lal: "Thank you for my life". A simple line that said so much. I get a little choked every time I watch this scene.
"Lower Decks": So many great little moments in this episode. Major crush on Sito Jaxa so I'm a wee bit biased.

Ensign Sito: "Doesn't git tal mean "to the death?"
Worf: "You speak Klingon."

In "The Next Phase". after they lose both Geordi and Ro, Riker is in the Romulan ship trying to close the door before the core is ejected. Data walk in, and Riker's look is awesome.

I remember Riker's face when he saw Ro and La Forge reappearing.....:D :guffaw:

Data in "Gambit Pt.". In the observation lounge. When Picard, dressed up as Galen, and Riker, still in uniform.
Picard, not in uniform, takes the final piece from the rather tall Klingon, played by James Worthy, NBA Hall of Famer. Data is just looking around, trying to figure things out.

Then Riker turns to kill Galen, but Galen/Picard, shoots Riker. Galen/Picard asks "is he dead?" When Deanna says "Yes" Galen responds, "Good", and the party beams out.

Deanna says "He's alright, he's only stunned".
Data, "I must admit, I'm experiencing a similar sensation.", Again with a rather confused look.

"The Royale" - Data playing craps after he adjusted the fixed dice.

"Baby needs a new pair of shoes."

How can anyone NOT love Data?

"The Game", Troi's scene with chocolate. For ducking under the radar it really hits the bullseye. But any scene of any 80s/90s Trek with food (like cheesecake!) lures me quickly. Let's just not mention "pistachio wobble", ever... :guffaw:

And, of course, every Q episode has at least two scoops full of great little moments. :D

An odd thing about that Troi scene... at the end, her smile is genuinely creepy. Almost like she was possessed by a witch and ready to burst out singing, in a witchy voice, "Rio" by Duran Duran.
