Exeter

C'mon, surely someone knows somethin'..........any news...........at all?

For what it's worth, Ralph Miller has Act Three in hand for final sound mixing.

Jimm tells me that there's a little color-correcting and adjustment to composites that he'll probably do when he has the cut back from Ralph, but that should not take long.

So for those who are still hanging in on this, thanks - hopefully we'll make that worthwhile soon.

You know, I'll say that it's remarkable that the core group of folks who have to hang together in order to get Exeter finished - people like Ralph Miller, and of course Jimm and the other producers and the director and even an actor who was called back in to do some additional voice work two years after the end of the shoot - have stayed available and committed to this project despite the fact that post-production has dragged on much, much longer than anyone anticipated.

That really says a lot good about them and their dedication to the project, IMO.

It does demonstrate a remarkable dedication, something that usually is a pretty good indicator that the end product is going to be something special.

Certainly each act has built upon the preceding one.

A special thank you for the update, Dennis. That's welcome news.

I only hope that some work, at least around the edges, has been going on with the final act as well....

Dennis, the reason I'm anxious to see this is that it's watching someone else's dream come true. Hey, when I was an 8-year-old kid, I wanted to make-up one or two new episodes for Kirk, Spock, and the Enterprise. Wow, man! You're actually doing. Yeah, yeah...It's Garrovick, Cutty, and the Exeter...but it has the same feel.

Hit it, Psion!

Yeah, Kagan, I agree - that's how I got involved in this.

I saw "Savage Empire" and thought "these guys did what I always wanted to do when I was a kid."

I have reels of Super-8 film from high school and college with bits and pieces of a "Star Trek" style film with sets and models (and a black-and-white "Frankenstein" reel that I still kind of like) but I never got it all together and finished anything.

When Jimm announced that they were doing more "Exeter" I emailed him a sample of my CG work and asked if I could help.

Act Four does exist in a fairly tight edit, but additional effects work remains to be done. If I make a prediction about how soon it will be done, my experience indicates that I'll jinx it. ;) So hang in, guys, and thanks for all your patience.

Nah, Kagan, I have to give Dennis and company at least a week before I ask "Are we there yet?"

Otherwise, it could get really annoying and some moderator would warn me for asking, "Are we there yet?"

Being a personality who doesn't deal well with authority, I'd be forced to come back with a smirk and post, "Are we there yet?"

Then I'd get banned for asking too many times, "Are we there yet?"

Then I'd have to invent a whole new avatar for myself and come back with the name -- you guessed it -- "Are we there yet?"

Board rules would then change, making it a warnable offense to use, in any context, the words, "Are we there yet?"

It's just something I'd rather not risk. So I'll try to contain my enthusiasm and refrain from asking (at least until Saturday or Sunday), "Are we there yet?"
