Doctor Who 6x04 - SPOILER PICS!

So you think that these pics are indeed from Episode 4, but that Gaiman has actually written Episode 3? I'll see if I can confirm that.

Gaiman has been saying for months that his episode is the third episode to be aired. As I say, I can't be 100%, but based on what's been said over twitter it certainly appears that way so any clarification that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.
Okay, this is what I am told: This episode is the one written by Mark Gatiss and is the fourth to be filmed but will be the third episode aired. Also:

There is a giant doll's house involved.

No confirmation (yet) on which episode will be Gaiman's.

I've actually heard it's more likely that we'll see
The Great intelligence and the Yeti last seen during the Troughton era, unless you count the "Five Doctors" and the "Downtime" DTV video. Concept art has leaked of an outline of a Yeti with a robotic skeleton.

The last thing that I heard was that the concept art was for a book, although that might just be a bit of deflection by McKinstry.

Having said that, when concept art from The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang appeared on his site before those episodes had aired they were swiftly removed once they became public knowledge so I'm guessing that McKinstry's telling the truth.

Either that or it's a double-bluff! :D

its actually drawn for the doctor who dvd files

Interesting stuff. That must mean that the first two episodes filmed don't feature The Doctor, or feature him in a very reduced role since Matt Smith was on holiday and/or generally travelling the world popping up at various festivals/events up until the end of August and filming on Gatiss' episode began on 6th September.

Hmmm...

I wonder if this might mean the return of the Celestial toymaker. Probably not played by Michael Gough as he's very old and retired, but possibly by somebody else. David Bailie plays him in the audios, maybe he'll get a chance.

Well, I can safely say this is the first time a Doctor Who monster has shat me up. Christ those are freaky.

if that is your reaction to a still image on a computer screen, how are you going to cope when they are moving, possibly talking on, and doing "scary" stuff, on your TV screen?

I will wet myself while flapping in terror.

Or, i'll just watch it and be like "Thats freaky." One of the two. :D

The most terrifying monster in Doctor Who is a collection of still images. Bested only perhaps by the one we never actually saw. ;)

(I'm still on the fence about whether their brief onscreen movement was scarier or not, but if so, it's only because they'd never moved onscreen and hopefully never will again)

that may well be true, does not make these images scary.

I'm going to for once in a long time spell wamdue's name correct and agee with him...they're not really creeping, more jarring than anything. Interesting to see what context of the episode they will appear in. This seems to play up the paranormal aspect of haunted dolls.

look let me be honest those pictures by themselves are not scary, maybe when we see the dolls on screen how they act, along with the disfigured face may make them scary, but I am not going to go all Scooby Doo over those images.

Except the episodes are filmed out of sequence.

That would be interesting certainly. The Celestial Toymaker is one of my favorite non-historicals during The First Doctor Era. I highly doubt Gough will return because he turned down the opportunity to reprise the role for the audio plays but hopefully David Bailie gets the chance (even though I haven't listened to said audios yet).
