Difference between Holodeck and Holosuite

On Deep Space 9, they go into Holosuties (like Kira and Dax did in "The Way of the Warrior"). On Voyager and the Enterprise-E and D in TNG, VOY and TNG Movies, they use the Holodeck. What is the difference?

Probably just the size, the suites were much smaller, other than that they seemed to work the same.

If they are the same, then why did those who worked on DS9 create a new name for the same (basically) device/idea? Correct me if I'm wrong, but that seems pointless. I should rephrase my question to "Why are the Holodeck and Holosuite referred to as separate concepts?"
So what is the answer to that, if the Holosuite is just a small holodeck?

In real life, you may notice that "suite" usually indicates some kind of commercial/business space, so maybe the term "Holosuite" shows that they are a money-making venture in the promenade, which is zoned as the commercial area of the station.

Ships have decks, so a deck with holographic operations is a "holographic deck" or "holodeck."

@Kor, I understand your idea, but I am looking for operational differences (although I think what you say is correct). I may have heard somewhere that the "holosuite" cannot be programmed with as many variables. This is only conjecture, so, I am looking for something completely official. Though all of you have added valuable ideas to my discussion.

One thing you may notice is that when a holosuite is turned off, you see more of the technical and mechical workings than with a holodeck. That was a deliberate part of the set design, to contrast with the black walls and gridline of TNG holodecks.

One episode of DS9 also referred to holosuites being "modular," whatever that means. Maybe they are smaller units that you can combine together to make a bigger holographic playroom.

The idea sounds good. Do you mean to say: The Holdecks are independent units whereas the Holosuite could interact with another similar device?

Something like that. Maybe each holosuite is a module that can operate by itself, and they can easily be either combined to work together, or partitioned off to rent separately to more individual customers... whereas a holodeck is basically one big unit that operates all together as one.

Of course, this is just conjecture.

Conjecture that I agree with.

Holodecks are on ships. Holosuites aren't.

The difference is marketing. Quark wants them to sound luxurious so he can charge more for them.
Again, operational differences only (to another admiral?!).
Kor seems to have adequately answered my question, but if anyone else has anything to add, I am "all ears" (metaphorically).

They are the exact same product made by different manufacturers hence the different name.

Or... a holodeck needs a gigawatt of electricity to run and a holosuite needs 1.21 gigawatts to run.

Actually, a Holodeck needs 4.2 gigawatts to run. Yes, you have differences in power, but differences in use [effect].

Suppositions aside, they are operationally the same.

The holodeck on Voyager has more techno-garbage all over the walls than a holosuite, so I'm not sure that points to anything other than visual design for the show.

Then why are they named differently, Admiral @Tosk?
