''Dead Stop'' Line-by-Line

Leandar

Vice Admiral
Admiral
Hello, welcome!

We recently finished our "Time's Arrow" Line-by-Line over there in the TNG forum!

After each completed thread, we're randomly picking someone who participated to choose the next episode we do. The lucky winner this time around was Ziz! And Ziz has chosen ENT's "Dead Stop" as our next Line-by-Line challenge!

For any unfamiliar with our "game," you are asked to post only a single line (defined as one character speaking without interruption by another character) per message. You can post as often as you like, but someone else must post a line in between your posts.

Our "rule" is that if the episode has a "To Be Continued..." on the end, it is done in a single thread, but if it's just an arc of related episodes, each episode is a separate thread.

As before, at the conclusion of this thread, I or, perhaps one of the real overlords of this shebang, the heavy laden LeadHead, or the originator and top ''boss'' of this whole empire (An empire, this? 200 feet below?! What more could anyone ask?), CoveTom, will pick someone at random from among all the participants to choose the next episode we do.

Let's go!

Captain's Starlog, supplemental. It's been almost four days since the incident in the Romulan minefield. Repair teams have been working around the clock. Nerves are definitely frayed.

(Inspection pod - Archer is inspecting the damage)

Archer: It's incredible we're still in one piece.

Trip: If that mine had hit another meter to the left... We can't polarize the port bow plating until those breaches are sealed.

Trip: Assuming we can find some tritanium alloy? Three or four months. And with this kind of damage the best I can give you is warp two, maybe two point one.

ARCHER: In other words, we're a decade away from Jupiter Station. What about the transceiver array?

Archer: I want you to get started on a general distress call. Assistance required. Minor repairs. Don't go into too much detail.

Phlox: (holding Reed's left foot) Push, Lieutenant. Two more seconds. And rest.

PHLOX: It's unethical to harm a patient. I can inflict as much pain as I like. A positive attitude is vital to the healing process. The more you complain the longer your recovery is likely to take.
