DC's New 52: Reviews and Discussion (Spoilers welcolme and likely)

Oh damn. I guess I have to add "Batman Incorporated" to my list. It'd be number two under Action Comics :) So its a top six list.

Yeah, there's basically five really good books... after that it was hard to come up with five more
well, i enjoy books like Batgirl and all the Legion stuff too. but then there are books like Justice League and Firestorm that i keep wanting to drop.

1. Batman - The last couple issues have been meh, but it's a pretty good book. My favorite Batman book.
2. Superman - A book I more or less like it has its flaws though.
3. Action Comics - Enjoyable the last few issues have really improved.
4. Supergirl: A good book but I think the story need to pick up some pace.
5. Batgirl - A fun book with a fun character.
6. Aquaman - It's impressive to me how good this book is considering I've never been an Aquaman fan.
7. Catwoman - I've mostly enjoyed this, last couple issues are meh, though.
8. Flash - Hit and miss but mostly interesting.
9. Detective - I go either way on this book but it's shown signs of improvement the last couple issues.
10. The Dark Knight - I'm surprised how long I've stuck with this one, actually but the last couple of issues seem to be leading to something interesing.
11. Wonder Woman - This book really needs to pick up and I find the art to be hit and miss.
12. Batman and Robin - Dropped. Just wasn't doing anything for me.

Yeah, same here. At least as far as 'really good' is concerned.

1. Aquaman
2. All-Star Western
3. Frankenstein: Agent of Shade
4. Resurrection Man
5. Swamp Thing

You are just not reading the good titles. WonderWoman/Batwoman/Swamp Thing/Animal Man/I Vampire/All Star Western/Frankenstein are worlds better than the entire second half of your list. And Green Lantern? Really that titles belongs at #50 with shit like TDK.

I am reading Wonder Woman and Batwoman, and I do not get the praise for them. Aside from the interesting art design, nothing really stands out about Batwoman. I'm all for having gay/lesbian characters of course, it's just not an interesting book. And WW I've always struggled to care about. I don't like magic/gods in comic books. So combine that with the incredibly average art... meh.

The only thing I'm really really digging is Aquaman, and if you squint JLI, even with Jurgens, is basically the same book it was 24 years ago.

i read the first 6 issues of Superman the other night.

horrible.

But I needed that under my belt before Giffen set up shop.

Batman and Aquaman are the standouts for me. The Lantern books I'm reading mostly out of loyalty to the characters. They've been a bit less impressive than usual ever since Blackest Night, really. I'm enjoying the Flash, too, come to think of it.

The GL franchise definitely peaked with Blackest Night, but I did enjoy "War of the Green Lanterns". The main book has always been good. I absolutely loved GLC in the early days with the Patrick Gleason art (he draws the best aliens and planets period).

I'd say the GL franchise peaked with the Sinestro Corps War and gradually fell off after that, with a big slip after Blackest Night. I dropped all the relaunched books after the first issues.

Top ten titles: All Star Western, Demon Knights, Batwing, Justice League Dark, I, Vampire (who knew?), Wonder Woman, Frankenstein, Action, Justice League. Er ... I don;t seem to have come up with ten. I do love Batwoman, but I'm not reading it until the trade because it isn't served well by the Comixology format.

Sadly over the years I've heard plenty of people who thought that Captain Marvel was named Shazam. It's not nearly as common as people who call Spock "Doctor Spock" though.

Yeah, I've been excited for Earth-2 but each announcement/interview cuts into my enthusiasm a little bit. I don't really want to see an Elseworlds Trinity. I don't really want the connection with WWII severed. I wouldn't mind seeing something like Robinson's JLA on Earth-2, actually. But it's clear as day we're just getting an angrier Justice League.

The Robinson interview at least gives me a little hope that they're planning something with some of the original Titans.
