Best Romulan episodes?

hey all, i've seen almost all of S7 and a few eps in between of the remaining 6. the romulans appear a few times in S7 but they really only 'appear' and don't have many, if any, speaking roles.

i just finished watching In the Pale Moonlight.

do the romulans appear more often or are they just poorly used in DS9?

i'd love to see the bridge of a romulan warship in combat. or any other roles where they appear and do something in an episode.

The Romulans tend to be botched pretty badly any time they're used, but especially in Nemesis. I think the best use of them was Trek XI. Prior to that The Die is Cast 2 parter was solid. Otherwise, Balance of Terror is pretty much the best.

Well, Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges is a season 7 episode with several important Romulan characters, but that is the only one that comes to mind.

Of course there is a classic Romulan appearance in In the Pale Moonlight.

But the Romulans are mostly background players on DS9, so they don't feature prominently in many episodes that I can recall.

'The Search, Parts One & Two' had one of my favorite Romulans, Sub-Commander T'Rul.

Yeah, they're pretty solid on the action front. It's mostly space action, though. The first episode is "Improbable Cause" the second is "The Die is Cast". Watch them in that order if you want them to make any sense.

I know it's mostly a stand alone episode, but they also appeared in Visionary, which is an episode I enjoy from the third season. I do think they were used the best in Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges.

does a founder ever take down a whole ship? i imagine it would be difficult to contain one.

Not that we ever saw, though knowin' that they can survive in a vacuum, a Founder would just have to get aboard ala Laas & the runabout in 'Chimera', disable life support, wait for everyone to croak, and take over the ship.

Romulan episodes? Well, we've got:

The Search
Visionary
Improbable Cause/The Die is Cast
In Purgatory's Shadow/By Inferno's Light (a small role)
In the Pale Moonlight
Image in the Sand/Shadows and Symbols
Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges
What You Leave Behind (again, a small role)

I think that's most of them.

Anyway, my favourites are probably Visionary and Improbable Cause/The Die is Cast. The latter may be the best Dominion story they ever did.

I still wish Voyager had reciprocated and had Alexander Siddig in that episode. He and Picardo had some great scenes together in "Doctor Bashir I Presume".
