Why do Fox bother hiring genuinely talented, individual directors like Gavin Hood or Kassovitz when it's quite obvious that they only want to deal with hacks like Brett Ratner?
The stills from Wolverine so far have looked pretty good and Jackman simply owns this role. Here's hoping that Fox don't f*ck this up like they did X3.

FOX will be FOX. There hasn't been a decent franchise yet that they've failed to fuck up.

You'd think Hugh Jackman would have enough clout by now to say "hands off".
Especially since he's one of the producers. Bah, stupid Fox. 
Does Jackman write? Actors who don't are rarely good judges of whether a script will work as a finished film, or how a production is going until they see the film edited together. Those who are exceptions to that rule - and there's no indication so far that Jackman is - can do very well over the long haul.
Why directors of talent and merit even decide to work for 20th Century Fox anymore is enough to puzzle me.
It's green and has pictures of dead Presidents on it.

Wolverine looks pretty good, but I can easily see Fox managing to ruin it by adjusting the final cut for "better marketing"...
But if they didn't retitle it, people would have thought it was some stupid animal documentary!
It's the same reason. They need a 5-car garage as much as the next person.

Pretty much, or just the $150m to work on their project.
Fox *does* tend to overmeddle a lot. That's one thing I've learned from more than a few director's commentaries on TV series and movies.
Or possibly engine components.
