Art that doesn't need its own thread

Inktober day 13: Horizon. Pen and marker. Friends viewing on desktop, sorry the image is so big and looks gross enlarged haha.
Oh man, I just realized I've been following you on IG and seeing your Inktober posts there. I love this one of the Horizon especially.

Voyager's Full Circle Fleet from the post-Destiny relaunch books for Inktober's Expedition prompt. Man, I loved this series. So many great characters. I really wish the litverse could have continued.

So the Mulciber-class USS Achilies as described in the book sounds as if it's shaped like the Ascension-class fan design so I used that.

Hey, all. I spent most of today, trying my best to make an editable template for the front panels of all the main MCU movies, mimicking the retail design as closely as I can. Here's what I've come up with so far; the only great departure is the art for Thor, but I do plan on making a version with the original cast poster as well. I'm not just doing the fronts, either - this will be expanding over time to form full covers for every film; I don't know yet if I'll be doing the TV shows (though I would like to). I am leaving out Agents of SHIELD however, since the bulk of that program went its own way after Season 1. I already have an idea in my mind for an "Alternate Universe" template, that would be for all Marvel films which predate the MCU. Anyway, here's the result of today's work - what do you think?

Here's an update to my MCU efforts, containing designs for every film in Phases 1 & 2. As you can tell, I've done a few variants, and I plan to include more, but it largely depends on the resources I have available. The template that contains all these layers has grown to 115 MB so far, and I have no doubt it will at least double that when I add everything for Phases 3 & 4...so keep your eyes peeled. Until then, enjoy!

Some articles on why we love curves:

Angular designs save on materials though

I just found this on my old computer when I logged in yesterday. It's a photo edit of Admiral Hikaru Sulu alongside newly-promoted Captain Rachel Garrett of the Enterprise-C.

How I made it: I downloaded a portrait each of Kacey Rohl and George Takei, put them in the same picture, then edited them to look like they were wearing the Strange New Worlds TWOK uniforms. I then superimposed them over a picture of San Fransisco at Starfleet headquarters.

I sketched this ship after an osprey diving. The arms serve dual purposes - inside them are disruptor banks, and the arms are supposed to fold down and forward, and use the “talons” to snag and tear apart chunks of a ship. The sketch is still in progress, I hope to add more on it!

Not sure if this counts as fan art, but I edited myself into the Generations movie poster as BOTH Captain Kirk AND Captain Picard. The Kirk photo is from roughly 10 years ago when I still had a full head of hair, and the Picard photo is from a few minutes ago. As you can see, I'm now a lot...balder. :wah:

NOTE: this is just for fun and or laughs. I don't actually think I resemble either Captain, I just was goofing off.

Love it! You should do all the film posters.Or at least start with The Motion Picture and see how you go. You already have Ilia's haircut ready to go

Aww...garsh.

I would definitely need a Spock wig, not sure where I'd find one. They sell rubber (!) ones on amazon, but I don't think that would feel very comfortable. LOL still sounds like fun!

If you wanted to do it cheap, you could just buy some ordinary wig and cut it yourself into a spock haircut. Get some fake elf ears off ebay for a couple of bucks. I guess it's easier said than done though. I'm still meaning to make my home made trek costume from a blue skivvy and some sew on patches from over two years ago!
