50-60 year old guy I knew thinks this. Also doesn't like discovery. I don't think it's great great, but Trek in this new format is kinda fun. He probably didn't appreciate the countless references.

It's made for multiple people. Mind you, 40 - 50 year old fans of TNG will probably get the most out of it.
37 here and far from a teen. I'm skeptical of this claim.
Made for people who have been teenagers at some point in their lives
Due to demographics, most everything is made for 18-35 year-olds. Those of us, I mean those of you, who are outside that demographic... tough luck. We, I mean you, have to get used to it.
I'm 30, and Lower Decks is my favourite modern Trek show. And it's my Top Three (Ds9, TNG and Lower Decks) of all Treks shows period. I actually feel the four leads might be the four Star Trek characters I can most relate to, along with Tilly.
I'm 58, I love Disco and Picard. I'm looking forward to SNW's and despite not being a fan of the Kelvinverse movies, I'm absolutely on board with the modern Trek shows.
Sadly, I absolutely can't stand Lower Decks - it has the distinction of being the only Trek show I really couldn't get through - I tried. Enterprise and Voyager were a breeze.

It's a big franchise - striking out with one show isn't the end of the world. I'm not exactly looking forward to Prodigy, especially also being animated and with Kate Mulgrew appearing in it, but I'll give it a go.

I mean, Lower Decks constantly references TNG deep cuts and that show went off the air 28 years ago.
Just thinking about it like that makes you realize there are probably teenagers out there with parents who grew up watching TNG.
Impossible. Nobody making Star Trek right now likes Star Trek.
If only Tendi wore a skin tight catsuit, this would be a show for adults like classic Trek.
Being 18 I doubt any of my friends would get this show. Besides the few I've gotten to watch old star trek series.

I'm 44 and it's easily my favourite of the current Trek series.
As a 58 year-old Star Trek fan who has been watching Star Trek first run since 1969, (I was 6) while he's entitled to his opinion, I think he's full of crap.
