I can hardly believe it myself!!
As of today, I've been here 5 years.
It's gone by so fast too, it seems like only yesterday I was down in the Red Shirt Lounge chilling with all the fellow new people like myself. Learning the lay of the land from our pal the Starfish!! I don't think a new person like myself could ask for a better mentor than Huntington. And I still have him to thank for introducing me to one of my best friends Blackdog!! I know she hasn't been around here in a very long time, but I hope she sees this.
During my 5 years and almost 20k posts here, most of the time spent in the awesomeness that is MISC I've made a lot off friends, I've learned a lot about people and I've learned a lot about myself. Five years is a good chunk of life and lots of things can change during that time, and change they did.
I've seen so many great poster come and go, come back, and go again.
I'm overwhelmed with happiness to not only be a member of TrekBBS at large, but especially the MISC community.
After 5 years how could anyone be expected to give a shout at to all my friends here, the post could probably be the longest one ever posted in MISC, I'd need my own sticky and 1000s of pages of thread just to do it.
But I have to say some to 4 very special people who've become more than just friends to me, doubleohfive, JKTim, BearsDiscoverFire, and Blackdog. You guys mean so much to me and have been some of the greatest friends a person could ever ask for and I'm eternally grateful to you all for that.
There are so many great people here, I feel horrible for not being able to single each and every one you out to give you thanks and let you know how awesome it's been. No matter the conversational topic, or the thread it evolved from I keep coming back just to hang out with you guys and girls.
So what I really just want to say is thank you to everyone in MISC, because of everyone here, I've never felt that I'm just a poster on a message board, but amongst friends of a community.
So to you MISC and TrekBBS, a toast, a thank you for 5 great years and the hope of many more to come!
