GO PITTSBURGH STEELERS!

Guy youre just mad the Steelers wupped the jagoffs ass this year. Jm if the steelers lose they lose. I will still be a steeler fan. You however will probably jump on the bandwagon of next years frontrunner or whoever plays aganst the steelers in next years superbowl as they go for title number 7.

Oh yeah and they wont be losing to the cardinals. Try again next year.

Guy? Who is Guy?

And no need to be insulting about a team name.

No... I simply don't like the Steelers. I don't have a reason to.
The Steelers are simply uninteresting. I rooted for the Chargers
against them, and I rooted for them against the Ravens.
I forgot the Jaguars even played the Steelers this year.
I could careless, the beating us was inconseqencial to the
outcome of our season.

I've rooted for the Cardinals at times ever since they got Kurt Warner
and when they started to show promise this year I found it cool that
he had another shot to win, and the Cardinals have a chance to
go somewhere in the playoffs. I find their story more interesting and
alot more exciting than the same old team going for even more Super Bowls.

And I'm sorry, I picked my favorite team because of where I am from and
because of players and coaches I have liked over their history, not because
of how big I percieve my jock... er... their fanbase is or how many Super Bowl
titles they have.

It's not about the jock. Its about you started this. I just made my points. I was born and raised here in pittsburgh been a fan all of my life. Even when they wheren't great in the 80's. Everybody here calls the jaguars jagoffs. They earned it by crying about being placed in the old Afc central division and insulting pittsburgh.

Those who have never won a title should not talk crap.

I am sure we agree on alot of other issues just not this one.

I have no idea whether or not it's true that the Steelers have the largest fanbase in American Football, but if yes, is there any rational explanation for that? Is it because they are in the play-offs almost every year, because they won the Super Bowl four times in the seventies and the people who became fans back then have made their kids Steelers fans also, because Pittsburgh is such a shitty city that it's inhabitants migrate all over the US, or what?

At least I don't live in the arm pit of the EU. When the mills went away so did alot of jobs. So yes alot of people moved away. Right now though Pittsburgh is about the only place in the us that is growing. We now have a diversified economy aqnd building going on everywhere. Oh and we have some of the best sports tradition anywhere. There was a time when all thing came through Pittsburgh. It's starting to happen again.

First world series? Played here. The two best Negro leauge teams ever? played here. The best football team ever as judged by NFL films and other experts? Steelers!

I didn't mean to be insulting, I meant that in a joking way and asked because of honest interest (I didn't know until looking it up on wikipedia after I wrote that there really was a lot of migration away from Pittsburgh in the past couple decades). It's sort of puzzling to me why out of all the NFL teams it should be the Steelers that's the most popular club in USA.

You're a little too jumpy for me. I'm not sure what I started, but I'd rather
have conversation with someone who's a little more stable in debate.

Jolan Tru.

I'm just guessing, but I think the Steelers are popular for the following reasons:

1. Pittsburgh has a reputation of being a blue-collar town where people work hard, raise good families, and somehow manage to overcome being from, well, Pittsburgh. (I'm a native Pittsburgher and so I'm allowed to speak disparagingly of my beloved town :))

2. The owners of the Steelers -- the Rooney Family -- are amazing role models. For generations, they have been loyal to the city, loyal to their head coaches, and loyal to their players. They treat people well, and they command an amazing amount of respect around the NFL.

3. The team has enjoyed fairly consistent success for almost 4 straight decades. But more important, their style of play is both striking and consistent -- a very good, hard-hitting defense, coupled with a power running game. Nothing fancy. Just meat and potatoes, year in and year out.

Any way to get them to teach this to Bill Bidwell before everyone leaves Tampa? He seems to be about the worst owner in the league.

The Steelers just received a Presidential endorsement.

More proof that we've finally got a man of intelligence in the Oval Office.

Agreed. Dan Rooney in particular impresses me as a fine man. I don't really have a dog in this fight, but I'm glad the Steelers beat the Eagles, especially after McNabb's bush league stunt with the Giants' telephone. Although as someone on another board said why should Giants fans be angry? After all, the Giants phoned in the game all day long. Anyway, I'm leaning toward the Steelers.

In any case, I just hope it's a good game and not lopsided. Also sorry Pat Tillman isn't here to see this day.

Im sorry I am just very protective of my home town and fav team. I was taking alot of mess from others and was a little sensitive.

Steelers nget the six pack!

Congratulations to Pittsburgh ... but you Steelers fans have no room to talk smack as to your team's performance. The Cardinals outplayed the world champions, but fell a bit short.

Hell of a game. Much respect to the cardinals for putting up one hell of a fight! Best superbowl game I have witnnessed.

I said it before AL Michaels did .... "I didn't think they could top last year's game, but man they came close!"

Oh now who's talking smack? Outplayed? No. Even at best. THe Cards ended up with more total yards, but then Pittsburgh was playing deep so much that is no surprise. It was designed more that way. Of course the Cards offense played very well to get those yards, to they do deserve credit for that.

BUT, the Cars also committed more penalties and Pittsburgh answer with plays in pressure time. Neither team "outplayed" when you look at the whole picture. The Cards deserve every bit of respect that can be mustered up, but keep it realistic.

If they outplayed the champs they would be the champs, they are not!

GO STEELERS!!!!!

I hope you aren't refering to me because I never gave you any mess.
People just debated the theory of the Steelers being the most popular
team and I stated I didn't find them interesting.

You however were making snide jabs at team names and such.

And yes, they were infact outplayed by a long shot.
Bad calls won them the game.
