Former President George Bush Wants Son "JEB" Bush To Run For President

In a recent interview, former President Bush expressed the hopes that his younger son John Ellis "Jeb" Bush, the former governor of Florida for 8 years would run for president in the future.

Not right away of course he pointed out.

Speculation has been growing given that Jeb Bush has indicated that he might run for Senator from Florida in 2010.

While governor of Florida, Jeb Bush was rated the best governor in the United States by some publications.

Run Jeb Run!!!!

While on the subject, speculation has grown that Jeb's son, George P. Bush is laying the groundwork in Texas for a national political career as well.

George P. Bush right now IIRC is a lawyer and businessman in Texas who has also joined the Naval Reserve, giving his resume many of the elements of a successful politician.

You know, I was only 3 years old when Bush Sr was elected and even I know that statement is nonsense. Regan was a golden boy (whether that title is deserved or not is another issue) and Bush Sr. was his VP. Few were surprised when Bush Sr came in on his predecessor's momentum. Especially considering he was running against Dukakis. Bush Jr's prospects were less clear, but I don't recall there being any major public attitude that the man didn't have a chance in hell against Gore.

Who can say what another four years may bring.

I can only imagine that happening if the America of 2010 looks more like the first season of Jericho.
