I just found this thread. I watched a random SG1 episode here and there in syndication when it was on late night on the weekends. I didn't really get into it until around season 7 and SGA near the beginning and then worked backwards. I have a tough time saying which I'd like more. SGU was difficult to watch, I think I gave up at one point and then caught up later. A binge rewatch a couple years ago and reading the comic made me appreciate it more. I'd agree SGU needs to be binged. I've probably binged both SG1 and SGA twice all the way through in the past 5 years.
I didn't care for the Ori. I didn't like the religion in DS9 nor in SG1. I think SG1 and to some degree Star Trek have helped shape and reinforce my views of religion. I like how some Star Wars fans have identified as Jedi for their religion. Firefly has Browncoats. Star Trek has Trekkers or Trekkies. I'm not sure what a Stargate fan would identify as. An ancient? Something with ascension to an afterlife...
I hated the overuse of the 'human' replicators. I was sorry to see Weir go.
So O'Neil with one L is the original movie character? Why did I not know that!
Origins was a disappointment, maybe more-so that it was a string of short episodes. I'll have to rewatch it as one show.
I hope there will be a new show someday.
