Ziyal is HOME

Yes!!!

It took five months and a day, but I finally came home yesterday. My kitties are ecstatic. I slept in my own bed last night (more accurately, I had insomnia in my own bed last night ). And I'm posting from my iMac instead of from my iPad. The iPad is wonderful, but not as one's only computer for five effing months.

For those who don't know... I had extensive surgery on March 15 to remove a sacral chordoma, a rare kind of primary bone cancer. Spent nine days in the hospital, six weeks in inpatient rehab, and three and a half months at the home of my best friend / former husband. Plus two brief rehospitalizations in May and June.

The next hurdle: I had my first post-op imaging done Monday. Will get the results when I see the neurosurgeon next week. I'm pretty anxious about that, to put it mildly.

I am so grateful for all the support I've received, both IRL and online. Especially here. Cardie-Bajoran hugs to you all.

At last! Congratulations. We've been waiting a long time for this kitty reunion. :D

Great news! This is a real milestone. :bolian:

Prayers and best wishes for continued recovery and strength, and for a good check-up on Monday!

Good to know that you're home! :) Must feel great after all that time in hospital and moving around etc.

Prayers and good vibes for the results.

Thanks, everyone. Y'all rock, too!

BTW, my neurosurgery appointment is next Wednesday, 8/24, not Monday.

Glad to see you're out, Ziyal. Good luck with the post-op imaging and best of luck for Wednesday.

YAY! I'm so happy for you -- I know you've been looking forward to going home!

While I'm not a big dog person, this shows how happy I'm sure your cats must've been to see you. :)

Congratulations!!! :D

I wouldn't be too upset about the insomnia last night...I bet you were excited! Probably a better reason for insomnia than you've had in a long time--any change in environment can get you keyed up, even the most positive ones.

I can't wait to hear how your appointment goes!

Woo! 5 months? Good Lord. I'd have gone batty. Enjoy every minute of it. :bolian:

There's nothing so relaxing as kicking back in your OWN place.

Make sure you relax and enjoy your newfound home based freedom, Ziyal! :D
