Zachary Quinto embracing Star Trek/Trek fans

Like Leonard Nimoy told Quinto about playing Spock- "It's for life", and fandom- "You're screwed".
I agree with Nimoy's remark about it being 'for life'. It certainly has been that way for him, and likely it will be the same for Quinto.
But I don't know about the 'you're screwed' part. I think Spock is one of fandom's most beloved characters. I mean seriously - who doesn't like Spock?
And now that Quinto has played him so stunningly well, I think he gets it...that it is an amazing stroke of luck. Not many young actors are pretty much guaranteed a source of income for the rest of their lives. But these guys in Trek XI? They get as close as it comes.
I agree on Spock bening the most beloved charcter. I think Spock is great in so many ways. Both Kirk & Spock have been my favorite charcters since I was young. And regardless of what show was my most favorite or if I swtich back and forth of what show/movie I liked the best, one thing remained the same is the charcters I liked the best. I have always loved Kirk & Spock and that still hasn't changed. I thought Quntio was amazing as Spock, just as amazing as Nimoy. I like ZQ as well though I was pretty horrified the first time I saw him in all his Spock-y glory. Oh my, he looked absolutely terrible with that shimmery green overly airbrushed skin and wooden photo shoot. *shudders* But, I'm glad I stuck it out as they eventually tweaked him, giving him a more natural look and less severe brows. Now he's just mmmm... yum.
OMG, you aren't kidding with that terrible writing. I mean, what the hell is going on?? It's time for that show to go! *stabs it* What did you do to Sylar!
Well..I liked the last few episodes of Heroes...so, I am holding out hope...

I assume he meant, a bit humorously, that he will now never escape being identified as Spock (though Nimoy doesn't seem to mind it as much as some others might, he obvioulsy loves the character) and getting stalked by Trek fans... I mean, getting all the attention and worship by Trek fans.

Zach gave a kiss to your wife on the cheek? Wow she must of felt lucky. I wished I got a kiss, well no matter I felt lucky just have ment him. I know when he was up there on stage and answeing qusetions that fans was asking him, he was real nice and very poilte. I got very nervous when I asked him a question, and also got nervous when I actually ment him, but he was very nice and sweet. KirkSpock, yeah, I'd heard that he was really cool to the people interacting with him at conventions. I mean, that he goes to conventions says something as well. I suppose since he's been a fan of things himself, that he understands what it means to be a fan.

Yep, that's what I thought. HOW do you keep track of that? Do you ask him to carry about a pad and make hash marks on it? Do you pay someone to follow him about? It's very weird. And the person who is the worst autograph signer just gets derided and their movies/shows boycotted.

It was voted for by autograph collectors and dealers. Eric Bana was also on the list I believe.
