YouTube channels dealing with Star Trek

RedLetterMedia doesn't do just Trek stuff but when they do it's usually fun.

Hey.

That reminds me, when I first watched the following, I thought of you. Reminded me of one of your Burnham monologues.

Mike taking the piss out of Picard S2:

I don't watch all the videos, but Trek Culture does a pretty good job covering Trek.

They have two types, the reviews (ups and downs for example), and the "top ten". The latter are terrible imo.

I have a guilty pleasure of Star Rekt. He made Chuckles interesting.

I watch a lot of YouTube Trek videos about various starships, both official and fan-made, and I find a lot of them to be very well done labors of love. In most of the ones I watch, it's simply about showing off the ships with no talking, with maybe Trek music and sound effects if called for. There are also some fan-made Trek productions (adventures) on YouTube that I like as well.

As far as YouTube Trek videos featuring commentary about various aspects of Trek...ah, I stay away from those. Partially because I get a pretty good dose of people's opinions here at Trek BBS, but also because I often tend to disagree or flat-out not care what is said on those videos. Skipping them actually allows me to enjoy Trek more. YMMV.

this guy on his chnl. is saying there are 4 new film coming

but I haven't heard of the other 3, especially the last one w/ Picard. To be serious, how long does it take to film a star trek movie? if they really do another movie w/ Patrick Stewart, what if he drop dead in the middle of filming due to age?

Stewart dropped that hint like right after the ending of Season 3. I think there was a thread in the Picard sub forum.

How long? Well, apparently years given the number of scripts bandied about.

Yeah, no! :p

There's one film happening (and I mean film, not TV Movie): The Prequel Film. I think that one will happen. I also don't think it will do very well unless it has some major star power. The same approach they're taking with Starfleet Academy and Section 31.

Star Trek 4? No. It will forever be in Development Hell. I have more faith in The Winds of Winter being finished.

Duke Nukem Forever eventually came out so... there's always a chance.

Since they never hit while the iron was hot, the "another sequel nobody asked for, decades late" trend in Hollywood may well work in St4r Trek's favour.

I won't entertain a Trek YouTube video if it runs longer than 10-12 minutes. I honestly couldn't tell you who I watch, though there is one guy who plays Bridge Commander that is fairly entertaining. Though that is probably because he doesn't talk a lot.

Yes I agree that it would take a lot of time to watch many reviews lasting 30 minutes or longer.
Time I don't have or can spend better.

Actual filming doesn't take that long. A few months if they decide to make it big with plenty of location shooting, but it can be done in just weeks if it's using existing or redressed sets (a.k.a. the Berman era). What takes so long is just getting the ball rolling (final script, locking down a director, and mainly getting the green light from the studio).

They can announce plans for multiple Star Trek movies until the cows come home, but it really doesn't mean a thing if not a single one gets the green light and has sets getting built.

among all upcoming movies, I like SEction 31 the most. The 4 part novel series of Section 31 are also very well written, too bad they didn't make that into a movie, especially the 2nd one in the Section 31 novel series, it's very well written
