YouTube channels dealing with Star Trek

Are there any you like or want to recommend?
Personally I don't watch much of it, I think this forum is a better platform and on YouTube I prefer to watch music videos.
Anyway, I really like the channel by Steve Shives, he is publishing videos about Star Trek for years already. They are entertaining and intelligent imo.
Here is a good example...

What a plucky Ensign has always been doing while Kirk is losing his shirt during TOS season one and two.

Hilarious.

She thinks Scotty is dreamy, and want's a piece of that. :D

I used to like Steve Shives' stuff, but I guess he must have gotten too smug with one of his 'continuity doesn't matter' arguments as I blocked his channel forever.

Personally I've been going down a reaction video rabbit hole recently, watching channels like:
  • Target Audience - All of Star Trek in chronological order, they're currently up to TNG s3's Tin Man.
  • Court Reacts - Currently at TOS s3's The Way to Eden.
  • bunnytailsREACTS - Currently at TOS s2's Patterns of Force.
  • Jen Murray - A few TOS episodes + the movies, TNG up to s3's Best of Both Worlds.
  • RolyPolyOllie Reactions - A bit of TOS + TNG, just finished DS9 season 4.
  • Gallifrey Gals - Did a bit of TOS, finished TNG, right at the end of Lower Decks s1.
  • Warp Reactor - Currently going through TOS, up to date on Lower Decks and just started Prodigy.
I could just keep going, I've been watching way too many of these.

I’m a fan of Stam Fine’s reviews – informative, entertaining and delivered with a wry wit. He just covered TNG and has reviewed other Trek series and movies in the past. His other genre reviews (Dr. Who, Bond, 70’s sci-fi, Superman, etc.) are equally enjoyable and worth checking out.

I've watched a few of her TOS reactions, and enjoy her strong appreciation for the music of TOS.

His channel is okay, but he seems to have a real bug up his ass about McCoy (beating the "drunk" joke into the ground, when that habit is most associated with Scotty), while being a hyper-defensive Spock fanboy.

Oh, and he seems to not understand that in-universe, bridge crew members are not always on duty. There's crew rotation, and of course, behind the scenes, day players were not guaranteed to be called in for every episode.

He's fairly amusing in-between the analysis, such as his references to his crazy Auntie Beryl's misadventures.

TrekYards was tolerable in bits, but Samuel Cockings' heavy pro-Voyager agenda (and taking thinly veiled potshots at TOS) are eyeroll-inducing due to its frequency

I've watched most of these and I was actually a video editor for some of Target Audience's episodes last year. The pace wasn't really for me with everything else going on.

I used to follow Steve Shives, but not anymore. Discovery's over, I don't agree with him about Picard at all, and I'm not a fan of SNW. So, basically, my split with him mirrors my split with the fandom circle I used to nominally belong to here.

Bearing in mind, I don't think I'd get along with some of these YouTubers in real life or always agree with them, but these are the ones I have subscribed to at one point.

TrekYards, Certifiably Ingame and Sci-Finatics

When I have a sense of humour, Ryan's Edits and Major Grin.

Halfscreen has done some amazing ship dissections. I think a lot more detail has gone into his videos than the tv show has ever even considered.

Shout out to the creator of Lethal Atmosphere I & II, Ethan 199303. I dont know why he stopped, but i find myself returning to those videos every so often. Such classic Trek, full of beans.

OrangeRiver seems pretty cool, too.

PopcornInBed (primarily a movie reaction channel) is also working through selected episodes of TNG before she watches Generations, First Contact etc. Previously, she watched selected episodes of TOS, then the original films.

Her Patreon select 4 episodes from each season (not including season finales and openers). Suffice to say, the YT comments section has been quite vocal on some of the Patreon picks. They typically favor "lore" episodes, meaning some picks are included solely because of the connective tissue they provide to future episodes.

For example, when she did S3, The Survivors, The Defector and The Offspring didn't make the cut. Patreon instead selected Sins of the Father, because you need that for Reunion and subsequently Redemption I and II. It's a frustrating way to approach it.

Still worth a watch.

Star Trek toy and DS9 episode reviews! One guy is a trekkie who recently started collecting the figures, and the other one is a figure guy who is watching DS9 for the first time :D

I'm fairly confident Shives mines TBBS for topic ideas. I noticed a trend some years ago that there would be a hot-button Trek topic thread blow-up here and then ~ a month later, it would show up as one of his videos where he spends a good 45 minutes praising the smell of his own farts.

I hadn't thought about it at the time, when I was following him, but looking back on it now: I think that's very possible.
