Young Justice-Tonight!

About Aqualad, its strange that they look nothing alike even though they are supposed to be the same character. The comic Aqualad looks like an normal African American kid, with dreadlocks, not blond hair and no gills. If anything, YJ Aqualad looks more like Spyke from X-Men: Evolution. He also seems to know nothing about Atlantis and doesn't consider Aquaman his king. Outside of skin tone, they seem like two different characters to me. I at least hope they keep Black Manta as his father so we can see him on the show.

It was confirmed in an interview that Black Manta is the father of Aqualad

We'll be seeing Dick Grayson Robin who is 13. He has the most experience but won't be the leader. Leadership goes to Aqualad. Geoff Johns gave permission for Aqualad's father to be revealed. It's Black Manta, if you hadn't already guessed. We'll also see Kid Flash (Wally West, age 15), Superboy (age 16 weeks), Miss Martian (16 Martian years) and Artemis (age 15).

... Hey Odo, I definitely heard your pal Rene in there. :)

Cool. Rene is a class act, and usually does voice work for DC animation - I knew he's had characters in B: TAS, Justice League & now this, if it was him. He doesn't really talk about it at cons, though...sort of summed it up as goin' in & workin' alone for a bit.

:D

When the show picks up in January time will have passed in the series as well.

Aquaman will have grown a beard too.

The 90s costume for Superboy will be apart of Connor's wardrobe

Brandon Vietti: Superboy does NOT go STRAIGHT to the black shirt and pants. Between his first appearance in the show and the comic book that ties in closely with our series you will see Superboy in some different outfits before he settles on his final look. We do have plans for the 90's style costume. But I'm not spilling any more details about that here. You'll just have to tune in.

It's cool that this show actually reflects costume changes and time passing by. Maybe for season 2 the kids can grow an inch taller

Also Queen Bee will be voiced by Marina Sirtis

Will Superboy dress in all black with a tench coat and a white chalky \S/ on his t-shirt?

She's like 8 feet tall.

There's rules or she'll keel over.

Though she looks the same as she did in Superman/Batman Apokolips.

Same animation?

It's too bad the show isn't focusing on the big guys instead, because I love the character designs and voices they came up with.

Unfortunately I just don't have much interest in watching a show about their sidekicks. They pretty much felt like just another batch of annoying, wisecracking kid superheroes to me.

I think I agree with you there. Maybe they thought people wouldn't go for a simple rebooted main corps.

It may have been by mandate or whatever but I think Aqualad was my favorite of the sidekicks. It's nice that he isn't like just a kid clone of Aquaman because this show has a danger of coming off as just a watered down JL Lite instead of something fresh.

No one in the pilot was invented.

Creating staid characters is not the same as using the source material.

Though skipping Miss Martian being white is a pussy move if they are trying to make a hard core cartoon.

I was always pissed that the JLA didn't seem to exist in the Titans Universe.

Please tell me some one is planning on breaking Block busters neck and swivelling it around 180 degrees.

Those were some awesome issues of Nightwing as he's trying to rule a criminal underworld through motor cycle rear view vision mirrors fixed to his collar.

Zatara is also supposed to join the team and it will be touched on why Zee is not on the Justice League. I believe they showed her character design in the preview video from comic con. I still need to watch this. As for Diana, she looks like same as she has been animated in Crisis for 2 Earths in my opinion.

So Zee is going to be in YJ and her little cousin is going to be in Tiny Titans?

The Wonder twins showed up in the final issues of Young Justice... Maybe be there's room for that sort of spasticity here too?

They're probably not going to be allowed to touch Blue Beetle because of new live action show coming out next year, and is it me or is one of the cadmus board just a little Luthorian? I mean it's integral to his origin that he's got all that Luthor DNA in him telling the Superboy to be a Super Dick.

I don't think we'll be seeing Blue Beetle since he's already been used several occasions on "Batman:Brave and the Bold" and Geoff Johns has said that the "Blue Beetle" spin off isn't a certainty yet. In fact with regards to the "leaked" footage from the summer time he called it a work in progress. I believe that Beetle's appearance on "Smallville" with Booster and Skeets will be a test bed for the character.

This isn't Peter David's YJ. It's more like Geoff Johns TT, but with the Young Justice moniker. The fact that Johns even transplanted Aqualad over to the Brightest Day comic and gave the producers the idea of using Black Manta as the character's father really shows his influence and vision of the DC Universe in the cartoon.

Like Wiseman said if you are looking for something like the original YJ comic, watch Teen Titans, YJ is something else entirely.

Yep this cartoon has Geoff Johns fingerprints all over it...much like the "Green Lantern" movie does and probably the "Green Lantern" animated series that is coming out next year.

It's counter intuitive. I get it.

But if you use a enough pressure and force you can get a square peg into a round hole.

I hated Spike in the X-Men toon.

He just seemed so Poochie.

Speaking of Poochie.

No sign.

Hal has the ring.

I hate Hal Jordan.

He snaps and kills his friends all the time.

It's just not cool.

Yeah. This show seems to be very humorless. Not at all like the comic. The original book was fun. Kids hanging out being kids. I wasn't expecting a grim & gritty back ops squad under Batman.

I'll give the show a chance.

I would love it if they had a multiverse cross over with their Young Justice comics counterparts. I want to see Bart Allen as Impulse.
