You have one wish.

SaturnVengeance

Lieutenant
And you can't wish for more wishes. What is your one wish? Well mine would be this:

To be with the girl I love.

And if I hadn't lost her, I would have picked this:
I would time travel to 1990, but the only thing I would do in 1990 would be to create an online message board using modern forum software(which I would have brought back in time with me), and the online message board would be primarily about gaming, but also about other things. And I would add forums for stuff as it came out and was released. For instance, the groundbreaking game, Doom, was just released, and so I would add a forum for that. Then a forum for N64/PS1/Saturn and other systems as they were released. When StarCraft and Diablo were released, add forums for them. Then Half-Life and Quake, ans all other large game releases and for the consoles. The forum would last forever. I would then time travel back to when I was 13 and relive my life from 13-present, all the while maintaining an ulterior presence in the past that updates and moderates my message board that I would have created in 1990.

Based on your writing style, would this be about a week ago then? ;)

Sorry, couldn't resist. Hope you don't mind a little mild razzing. :D

One wish?

Eternal perfect health, but with the ability to choose my time of death.

Just peace in the world.

What?? What kind of craziness is this?

One wish? That I might visit a horrible, horrible vengence upon all who have crossed me. And their heirs.

Is that two wishes, or can I count that as one?

Honestly? The older I get, the more "world peace" feels like a genuine wish and not the punchline to a joke about pageant contestants. I'm so tired of the stupid fighting.

I would wish for everyone to have earned that which they have in life. What a society we could be if everyone pulled their own weight.

We can always have peace, but at what cost? France had peace with Germany with Nazi troops marching through the streets. I would never want to see Freedom given up in the name of peace. Should we want peace so bad that we are not willing to go to war and end up as slaves? We have peace so long as we have those amongst us that are willing to go to war to keep the enemy from attacking us.

I think you're kind of missing the point of the whole magical genie granting a wish thing.

If I had one wish...

Downer answer - I'd wish for my Mom to be alive again and in good health.

Non-downer answer - I'd wish that all the children (and adults) of the world would be granted the equivalent of the best education the world has to offer from preschool through doctorate level free of charge. They'd still have to earn their education, but the playing field would be a little more equalized.

How about something not too convoluted or involving the entire world...

I wish that what ever job I go for -- that I want (whether with some company or self employed) could be attained, and kept until such time I wish to part with it. No piles of money, but rather the chance to earn that money -- and be okay with it.

I'm not talking about real life. I'm talking about a magic genie granting me a wish. In real life, I agree with you. But if a magic genie is going to offer me peace without war, I'm all for it.

I would wish for everyone to be able to see the world as my daughter with Down Syndrome does.

M'Sharak posted this in the mod forum, and I thought it apropos:
