Worst Director EVER! (Nominations)

Taylirious

Basically nominate your "Worst (Film) Director EVER!" If someone has been nominated already, please choose another candidate. :)

Completely subjective & not relegated to box office/ commercial success.

Basically who & why. ;)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I will go first...

Michael Bay

Some may argue Transformers & Transformers (3) - Dark Of The Moon are pretty good but NO! They are horrible movies all 4. Ugh. He hasn't done good since The Rock if we are being intellectually honest. :techman:

ETA: Accepting nominees for 10 days & I will put up a voting thread.

Marcus Nispel (Pathfinder, Conan the Barbarian, Friday the 13th). His only movie that's anywhere near watchable is the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, and I haven't even seen that since I was a kid. It might be worse than I remember.

Coleman Francis. The Beast of Yucca Flats makes Plan 9 From Outer Space look like a masterpiece. Throw in Red Zone Cuba to clinch it.

^this. He wasn't just a bad director, but was bad on such a scale that he became famous for the insane magnitude of the suckage.

Uwe Boll is also notoriously bad, but in a much more mundane, boring, tax-shelter kind of way.

I don't know, I think you can find worse directors on Youtube than you could find among anybody who's ever worked in Hollywood. As much as I abhor Michael Bay.

Quentin Dupieux - Director of 'Rubber' (a story about a homicidal automobile tire)

Pretensions with delusions of grandeur, looks like he read a lot about art films and understood nothing.

@Locutus

When people create 'Worst' topics on message boards they really mean 'Famous thing that I am most annoyed is famous'. I'd just like to see acknowledged that this is what the thread is really about. No need to be rude.

My nomination for 'Famous director I am most annoyed is famous' is Jason Friedberg/Aaron Seltzer. The team responsible for most of the '_____ Movie' parodies.

Tom Six, A.K.A. the genius behind The Human Centipede. I blame those smartasses at South Park for even knowing who he is

Ed Wood - for Plan 9.

...and Glenn and Glenda...and Bride of the Monster and everything else he did.

I tend to give Ed Wood the win by default, but-- for the sake of giving others a chance, I nominate Vic Savage for The Creeping Terror and Tommy Wiseau for The Room. I can't fairly throw in Harold P. Warren yet because I haven't seen most of Manos: The Hands of Fate -- but from what I have seen ....
