Worf's chair always seemed odd to me

It didn't even look that confortable. I think I remember seeing someone sitting in it one time and it just struck as bizarre. Did it recline? I think the various balls and outcroppings made it so you could change foot and arm positions to suit your need, but give me a lazy-boy anyday over that!

Ok, I'm having a big time brain fart; what chair are you talking about? Got a picture or episode I can look at see it?

The Parallels episode thread got me thinking about it, it was in Worf's quarters. It was in most of the episodes featuring Worf's room, it was some big black monstrosity, with various "balls" for footholds and armrests. I don't have a picture or link, sorry 'bout that. But was in more than one episode. And I think (but not totally sure) there was an episode that had Worf sitting in it one time, but that I am not sure about.

Yeah, I'm not sure what you mean either. The only chairs he had on TNG where the ones in his quarters.

Furniture as art. It doesn't always work out. :)

Isn't it actually a reused prop or work of art that someone on TNG thought looked brutal enough to be a Klingon chair? I seem to remember hearing something like that.

The thing of it is...it's not even Worf's chair.

I'm fairly certain that this chair prop first appeared aboard the plague ship in "Haven".

Only later did it appear as Worf's chair in his quarters.
So it's really just a recycled prop.

That was a Klingon Vor'Cha chair, used for the traditional Klingon pain chair ceremony, to put a warrior's true mettle to test. Songs are still sung of the great chair battles of the past.

Joey Tribiani (Friends) had that chair in his apartment when he was on Days of our Lives. Even sat in it in one episode.

I don't think we ever saw Worf sitting in it, but little Alexander sat in it once when Worf was having a serious conversation with him. Maybe it was in Ethics? Hmmm, if it was Ethics, it must have been someone else talking to Alexander...maybe Riker?

^Actually I distinctly remember Worf sitting in that chair while holding a mirror to examine his beard or something. I can't remember the episode though.

He probably shopped around for the chair with the most honor he could find.

The chair is actually a rented prop from Modern Props. It's a Norwegian "garden chair."
