Where is the DS9 shooting model today?

I'm wondering, is it known who bought lot 493 - the Deep Space Nine shooting model - in the "40 Years of Star Trek: The Collection" auction, and where it is today?

That makes me think. It's too bad the Smithsonian hasn't made an effort to get a hold of some of the other shooting models, so that they have a collection. It'd be really cool to see a bunch of them on display together.

All auction winner identities were kept confidential, for obvious reasons. I doubt anybody would come forward publicly... unless it was a trust fund baby who wants to feed his ego. It was amazing to see how high the prices went for shooting models. But they weren't horribly out of line for an institution like the Smithsonian. I wish they'd bought some of them. But... it could very well be that current owners may later donate/sell their models to the Smithsonian. In a few decades time. ;)

daaaamn $132,000! Must be some rich DS9 fans out there. Like the op i always think it's kinda weird with this kinda stuff, if i'd have bought it i'd post on here that i've got it, its (more or less) anonymous on a forum.
I'd be scared owning that incase i damaged it, i bet the pylons would be easy to knock around. I didn't realise it was an actual model either, i assumed it was just CGI, sign of the times i suppose.

^ As I recall, they used a CGI model of the station a grand total of once, for the very last shot of the show.

Wow... I agree :). They actually have the original Enterprise in the gift shop.
