What's special about Vadic's big thug?

Who is Vadic's big thug that seems to be her personal bodyguard? The big thug seems to take more phaser hits than the other crew of Vadic's ship. He keeps getting up like a zombie. Perhaps he is Armus? Why can he take more hits from phasers compared to the other ones? And why is he so loyal to Vadic? Using the word "He" as I have no idea what big thuggy is.

I’m more interested in why the other changelings under Vadic’s command chose to look like bird people 99% of the time and speak in a different language from her own. And where they got the Shrike from. And why Vadic vaporized one of her own kind just because he was reporting information she didn’t like. But I have a feeling that those questions won’t get answered in three episodes.

Yeah, the big bodyguard is seemingly special (but I don't think he's Armus).

Most changelings need to take 1 or two hits before they drop dead. This guy ends up taking multiple hits and still gets up.
When Shaw shot him in the head, I figured he will just get up and surprise him from behind.

Starfleet weapons training takes time to overcome.
