The manga story featuring Starbase 47 is "The Humanitarian" in Vol. 3, Uchu. It's an excellent story, but I don't think it quite fits in the same continuity as the novels. The SB 47 in the manga story seems to be a lot closer to established Federation territory than the one in Vanguard, and it's shown in orbit of a planet (or else really close to a star; in black-and-white, it's hard to tell). Also, the story involves

a disaster that kills 20 percent of the Enterprise crew. I suppose it's possible that could've happened in the book continuity, since no established characters were killed, but you'd think an event that big would've been mentioned from time to time in later stories.

So I think of it as an alternate-timeline tale or a "what-if" scenario.

Wow I just bought that volume of the Manga.

The Palais is also featured in the TOS trilogy Errand of Fury

Adding the Errand of Fury trilogy means also adding the Errand of Vengence trilogy as well. Plus Christopher mentioned that he referenced The Kobayashi Maru (TOS), bringing the TOS total to 57 and the over-all total to at least 301 Pocket books publications.

Take that, Star Wars Expanded Universe!

At this rate the Trek novelverse will become so massive that it was collapse like a Neutron Star or just fall through te surface of the planet make the core blow up and wipe ou the human race, Oh well.

I'm not worried, as Scientists in Washington recently conceded that if that happened, all that would remain are cockroaches, Jem'Hadar and me. So I'll tons of great stuff to read!! (I'll use the bugs as bookmarks).
