What Changes Would You Like To See In "Friday's Child"?

Well it appears that the Capellans and the lovely Julie Newmar are next up on the chopping block. Not much to change in this episode. But what the hell? I'll ask anyways. What are your dreams and desires?

I'll get the obvious out the way first: the Klingon scout ship. In my opinion, to say that Mariner Class did an awesome job with his CGI recreation of the small warship, would be a gross understatement. I'm really impressed. If I were a gay man, I'd kiss him on his bush snake. All the ship needs is a textured hull/skin with windows. I hope the CBS team did something similar.



And then there is the communicator close up. The original moiré effect was really cool (and conveyed perfectly that sonic soundwaves were being generated), but I feel it should be made to look a little more futuristic this time around. At least a little different from Spock's scanner/energy output display at his science station.

- When McCoy slaps around Julie, "Smack My Bitch Up" should play.

- Add a Klingon Bird of Prey because they are so kewl

- CGI in a background crewman played by Ice Cube as a nod to the FRIDAY films.

- Make a scene where Kirk and Spock debate whether or not McCoy giving Newmar a footrub is adultery.

- The Capellans should sing...A Capella of course!

Obviously, do something with the scout ship (lots of discussion about that). I really don't care what they do, although I'd appreciate it if it was visible and NOT a D7.

Aside from that, I can't think of anything. Maybe CGI some hair on that Klingon or something that'll make him look more threatening. Seriously, that guy would make me embarrassed to be a Klingon.

CG out Newmar and replace her with Eartha Kitt halfway through. Better yet, start with Lee Merriweather, then in the next act Newmar, then Kitt, then back to Newmar for the last.

I was watching the ENT episode Unexpected. Here, unfortunately, we got to see for the first time a Klingon ship of this era. Despite my snickering at the K't'inga class ship, I also found myself smiling at a certain shot. The first time we see the ship on the viewscreen, it mirrors the scene in Friday's Child where, we too for the first time, see a Klingon ship of this era.

I never noticed that. I wonder if it was intentional.

Of course, if we're talking about replacing ships, that ship is almost as high on my list as the Friday's Child ship.
