What are your favorite (non star trek) sci fi/fantasy uniforms?

I loved the LOTR costumes, and Game of Thrones, too. The armor and insignias were really well done. I also really like the Original BSG uniforms (OK, maybe for the nostalgia). All that suede!

I also like the Galaxy Quest uniforms. They had to remind us of Trek without actually saying "Star Trek."

I have a mixed reaction to the Star Wars costumes. The utilitarian ones, like Han's outfit, seemed right. Darth Vader and the storm troopers had great design--very memorable and had great visual impact on the audience. Although, logically, all those capes are probably not very practical and the helmets would have interfered with peripheral vision. But it looked great on screen.

I've also been rather fond of B5's EarthForce Marine uniforms.

There's something about the color that makes it much more badass than the blue "fleet" uniform (even though the actual design is exactly the same).

Setting aside the obvious ones like Star Wars.

Federation trooper outfits from Blakes 7
SHADO outfits from UFO (ok specifically those worn by female staff on moon base!)
Original BSG
Alien (sort of uniforms)

I was always quite partial to the uniforms in Outland, especially the baseball hats.

Not particularly "futuristic," but probably pretty realistic to what a "space cop" would be wearing.

And, for my money, Chaykin's design for "American Flagg's" Plexus Rangers has never been topped:

I've always been partial to the uniforms that the crew of the Yamato wear in 'Space Cruiser Yamato'; especially the updated ones seen in '2199' and live action movie.

Also, although the second season of 'Space: 1999' gets a lot of flak, I like the modified uniforms with the addition of the jackets better than the first season.

I love Captain Marvel's uniform in her first movie and in "Endgame."

The pilot uniforms on the 2003 "Battlestar Galactica" aren't too fancy, but they have funky tanktops that look good on a wide variety of people.

If this counts, the slick cyberpunk outfits worm by the human rebels in the Matrix. There's a formula: coat, shades, punk hairdo that's either short or "up." But no two are the same.
