Uniforms in Big Bang Theory

I don't watch Big Bang Theory, but clips pop up in my YouTube reels a lot. They have had a few instances where they wore star trek uniforms, and they look to me like real uniforms from TNG, not fan-made uniforms. Can anyone confirm?

Well, time creates a fog, not just Covid.

I believe all the uniforms were sold to collectors in one of several large auctions. I would expect that they are all in private hands. Perhaps they were loaned to the show?

Isn't it more likely the costume department for the Big Bang Theory just made new ones? Tracking down used ones and borrowing them seems to require way more effort than simply getting some fabric and recreating them, it's not a complicated pattern.

I'd say the costume dept made them. I was gonna suggest they might have taken the actual ones out of storage (if any), but the show wasn't taped at Paramount so probably not as they might not loan them to Warner Bros where it was filmed if they still had them..

I have given no opinion about about whether or not the production made new ones.

My comment addressed the likelihood that these were from TNG, whether or not they were pulled out of mothballs. You should note that my comment specifically addressed the OP on this issue, who made no query about BBT making new costumes, only were they original to TNG or fan made

I stand by what I said: if they were original costumes, it would have been the fans who had purchased them at auction who would have had to loan them out to BBT.

The costumes were from the now defunct Anovos.

"...if those fine threads on Sheldon, Leonard and Raj look familiar, they should. That’s because they’re straight from the folks at Anovos Productions, manufacturers of the highest-quality Trek costumes available to the public. I thought the thread would be about this uniform

But I tend to think in TOS. ;)

Hmm. Dr. Bialik is wearing an improper uniform: a nursing insignia (red cross) goes with a collar matching the uniform color, rather than a black collar.
I believe Dr. Bialik is properly costumed. The cross appears on both blue and black collar uniforms

"Return to Tomorrow."

There's also another nurse in "The Immunity Syndrome" dressed the same way.

ETA: Wiki article on unnamed personnel. Look for nurses.
A quick glance shows 3 out of 9 nurses (including Chapel) have the blue collar. I guess now we’ll have to think of what that signifies, lol.
