First test renders of my new design. I decided to try combining some more slightly more modern design shapes with the stylings of the 60s era Star Trek.

As with the design of the exterior of the ship, I tried to keep fairly faithful to the design style of the classic 60's era. However, I added a few more updated details to make the ship appear more advanced. There are new consoles and chairs. (Incidentally, the look of the Captain's chair is actually inspired by it's Lego counterpart. It had a blocky yet simple appearance which I duplicated, then added some details of my own, such as the cushion design). This is all brought together with the lighting and the LCARS computer display which uses the same type of graphic as the original but incorporated into a touch screen format with a few holographic displays.
