The one thing I noticed is that I neve use the term myself. I just say " I love Star Trek." Now, Jim Steele, that doesn't mean I walk around saying that all the time randomly.

Oh no, I was really talking about myself. I often post any old inane drivel while I'm at work because sometimes there is literally bugger all else to do, and I'm pretty sure that's the case for the majority of people here. Well, in The Neutral Zone at least.

I never cared much for either term, but the grim earnestness with which "Trekker" was announced as the name of the True Fan™ made me roll my eyes and decide that "Trekkie" wasn't really all that bad.
