All, it's that time of year, Fantasy Baseball leagues have opened up for Yahoo.

I've renewed the NL league from last year, so check back in to sign up, and if you see a spot, grab it. I'm sure the AL league will be started back up as well, as we hope to fill out both 12 team leagues, as always. The pertinent info:

Live draft is set for March 18th. All I could grab at the time was 6pm, but I will adjust it to be probably 8pm EST once more slots open up. We can discuss settings once you sign up, but I copied last year's settings as the default, and can tweak as needed...

don't make me revoke it! And yeah, I fucked up and overlooked it last year. You also have to admit that I went to extraordinary lengths to get it corrected, even after the draft had occured, when you aren't supposed to be able to change any settings...

^Nah, I don't think you do. I choked in the Finals, but otherwise had a dominant team all season, from what I recall. It's ok, I'll just rebuild it stronger and faster for this year

Also, should start back up the chatter for the ESPN league. I gotta look at my roster again, but I'm still in a position where I've got more valid keepers than I can actually keep, so would like to see if I can figure out a 2 for 1 trade where I give up two keepers for 1 keeper that's an upgrade somewhere. If you see anything that might work, let me know...

Can someone give a quick explaination on the difference between the ESPN and Yahoo Leauges. Is there a reason to join one over the other?

ESPN is what we're using for the Keeper League, and there aren't any openings at the moment.

As for why we use Yahoo for the yearly league, and not ESPN - personal choice? Both ESPN and Yahoo have their pros and cons, they are really fairly similar. I like staying with Yahoo because I like the interface, and I like having the history of the past years all incorporated in (by logging in, you see who took the trophies the past 4-5 years). Gotta do ESPN to make a customized keeper league, but for just a yearly thing, Yahoo seems to work well enough...

How does Fantasy BAsebnall work anyways? Is it head to head like hoceky and football?

yes, head to head. Whoever wins the most categories for the week wins, and then everyone gets ranked by winning percentages for the overall lead.

Only difference is that you pretty much get to field a full team every day, whereas in the hockey league, you're lucky if you have 4 guys on your roster playing any one night

That was the case the year you played. This year our commissioner set it up with a lot more benched players. Tonight, for instance, I have every position filled and 4 players had to be benched.
