TNG Season 8

J-LP gets assimilated, again. Along with the entire bridge crew. Only Crusher and Crusher escape. And wipe out the Borg with nanobots. Before Janeway ever gets the chance.

Ergo, 1 season of TNG = 7 seasons of Voyager. (Barring 7(9), of course)

There’s a bunch of stuff they could follow up on from previous seasons:

The Conspiracy parasites follow the homing beacon at the end of the episode back to seek vengeance for their fallen queen and continue their great work.

Nagilum returns to terrorize the crew in an unexpected way. Maybe they don’t realize it’s him till late in the strange new game being played. Or maybe it’s being played on an alien crew (the Romulans?Dying in pools of bright green blood?) and the Enterprise is somehow there to save the day.

Whatever happened to Gul Macet? Was he in fact a goodie or a baddie? Are he and Gul Evek or Madred or someone new opposite sides of the same coin like Dukat and Garak?

When Q first introduced us to the Borg I thought he said something about yet other aliens out there who are even scarier…who the Christ might they be??

I'd want to see some building on the (sometimes limited) character development:

Data uses his emotion chip - maybe he falls in love or develops a phobia

Riker takes a captaincy and we get a few episodes of him on his new ship struggling with the step up. One shot characters from earlier seasons are part of his bridge crew.

Worf becomes first officer and has to learn to be a diplomat. (Data isn't interested in command and is emotionally unstable from his emotion chip)

Deanna has to do some actual counselling with Worf, Data and Riker.

The Enterprise is shown doing key things for the war effort away from the front line. This might be negotiating to bring other species into the conflict or securing trade deals for raw materials.

It would have to be between AGT and GEN, right? Or up until FC?

The Conspiracy parasites follow the homing beacon at the end of the episode back to seek vengeance for their fallen queen and continue their great work.
That would be interesting!

Sir/Ma'am,

(your name is indeterminate, as mine),

1. Data already used his emotion chip with Tasha. Whether he knew it or not.

2. Riker did eventually become a Captain (and what a Captain!)

ST: Best of Both Worlds: "Mr. Worf, FIRE!"

If we’d gotten a season 8 of TNG, we probably wouldn’t have gotten 7 seasons of Voyager.
So I'm thinking:
Picard becomes an Admiral and Riker takes command of the Enterprise.
Data joins Picard and leaves Enterprise.
The rest of crew stays, with Worf becoming First Officer.
The Enterprise gets a little refit (f.e. new Bridge design as in Generations).

Instead of Voyager, it’s the Enterprise that’s thrown into the Delta Quadrant.

1. I refer to the physical emotion chip he acquired in season 7.

2. In my head Season 8 occurs before the film's.

Ruler would have to go, realistically. Or Picard goes and he becomes captain as suggested by @TREKISODES

in-universe it’s a bit silly how long Riker was first officer.

I’d go with following Picard as an ambassador. Riker shows up to support at times. Like in that episode, Future Imperfect I think.

That’s was I wish ST Picard has been. Him as an ambassador solving complex disputes diplomatically.

That was a good Twitter. Still fun to some more. I like to think of serous options.
An alt universe that branches off Prime right after All Good Things.

Difficult to imagine a Season 8, considering how anemic season 7 was.

I guess if the series had continued we would have seen Worf and Troi marry.

On the major cast changes many are proposing...I can only see that if 1)one of the actors wants to leave 2)They only want to spin some of the characters off into movies (Data and Picard for example) 3)They decide to turn TNG into something like ER was; a long-runner with characters joining and leaving the crew as the seasons continue.

It would probably be more realistic to have crew members coming and going over the years.
I’m pleased they didn’t because I love watching my favourite characters, but the same 7 people (minus Tasha) serving together for the best part of 25 years seems very unlikely.

There was some gold there though. All Good Things is one of my favourite pieces of all Trek.

Season 8 would have been all about the crew going their separate ways. There might have been some random filler episodes, but mostly we'd be seeing Data and Geordi getting their own commands (or serving on the same ship together as captain and XO), Picard retiring or moving on to the admiralty (and perhaps hooking up with Crusher, although I'm not 100% sure that would be a good idea), and Riker finally getting command of the Enterprise, with Troi at his side. Worf would return to the Klingon Empire to help Gowron and possibly command his own Klingon ship.

One thing that definitely wouldn't happen is the crew continuing to serve together for the next ten years.
