Timeless is possibly the best Voyager episode?

Indeed. If you missed "Deadlock" would you even know that you technically were watching a different Harry?

Pretty sure it was never mentioned again.

Given that the Harry who replaces the lost Harry is from a duplicated Voyager but not an alternate timeline per se (though he would have somewhat different memories from the point of divergence forward), I wonder whether there's any variance in his quantum signature from the rest. I'm guessing not since the duplicate folks seemed to still exist within the same quantum reality, just somewhat out of phase IIRC.

"Year of Hell" remains my fave. It was one of the few VOY episodes where the Reset Button actually worked.
Garrett is used well, and agree he should of had more stories thrown his way.
Indeed. He and Neelix really got frozen out. And Harry's stories were insulting dreck like "Nightingale", intriguing plot twists ruined by interference from above like "Favorite Son", and great ideas that were poorly executed like "Non Sequiteur".

Timeless always left me a bit cold (no pun intended). Not a bad episode, but it never really 'got' me.

Timeless is one of the best. It is one of the first episodes of Voyager, and Trek in general, I ever saw. Seeing Laforge was great too. VFX and acting were top notch. Seeing Voyager entombed in ice and the crew frozen in time was eerie. The final scene with the Kims? *chefs kiss*

That being said, when I think of Voyager's best episode, Year of Hell immediately comes to mind. If they had stretched it out for the full season like they wanted to instead of a two-parter, it could have been a fantastic season of Trek.

This is my favourite VOY episode. Harry had a really cool double arc and a leather jacket. :D

Hell, I would have loved to see TPTB do something as ballsy as having the events of this episode end up killing Present Day Kim only for him to be replaced with Future Kim.

Now I'm picturing Future Harry (only) surviving and winding up on "Present-Day" Voyager, so now there are two Harrys. Future Harry outranks Present Harry, so Janeway pretty much has to put him on the senior staff. Trouble is, Future Harry thinks Present Harry is a total twerp, and berates and bullies him mercilessly. Janeway is concerned, but feels she can't really tell him to cut it out because technically, one can't bully one's self. So Future Harry routinely mocks and dumps on Present Harry, even during staff meetings, which produces awkward silences as nobody else quite knows how to react. Also, Future Harry, who now goes by Harrison, has an eyepatch and a semi-scarred face, which makes him a big hit with the ladies. After several torrid romances, he and Seven become a couple, but Seven acts like Present Harry's a completely different person, and flat-out tells him she can't picture herself ever dating him, only Harrison. Harry has an awkward conversation with the Doctor about whether the Doctor would be willing to give Harry "cosmetic" scarring to look more like Harrison, but the Doctor refuses.

Eventually, Chakotay tells them to sort out their differences, and convinces them to start with a boxing match. Harry has secretly been training for this, however, and knocks Harrison on his ass, and they reconcile. Harrison even coaches Harry on not being such a damn dweeb, and helps him with wooing one of the Delaney sisters. Harry, meanwhile, transfers to Engineering, so as not to be around Harrison all the time.

Timeless is my favourite and the episode I remember the most from when Voyager was first broadcast and I used to watch it with my mum. I like the contrast between the fate of the crew and the flashbacks to them celebrating around the warp core. "Go easy on that champagne, Lieutenant"

I still get goosebumps during the final scene and the affection Janeway shows towards Harry with that little smile as she leaves him alone to watch his log entry.

This is my favourite episode in all of Star Trek.

Here's a lovely fan made trailer for Timeless :adore:

(My second favourite episode in all of Star Trek is ENT's E2, they do have similar themes).

I only discovered this photo of Jeri Ryan yesterday. I love behind the scenes stuff.

No, it is the BEST
Ironic, isn't it? Harry's episodes are basically...
Emanations: I dunno, last time I saw this one I was asleep through much of it.
Non Sequiteur: Good concept, but serious issues with execution.
Favorite Son: A chance to salvage a foundering character, destroyed by studio interference.
Ashes to Ashes: More about Lynsey than him.
Nightingale: Character assassination at its finest.
And Timeless... one of the best.

Uneven much?

What was the studio interference for Favourite Son? I'm doing a rewatch and I just saw that one tonight.

Non Sequitur is just.. how is such a good idea so terrible?

He's great in Timeless.

Harry's character was foundering, so the writers decided to shake things up by making him an alien. As in, permanently. Either Berman or studio execs stopped that from happening; I think it was the latter. Had they been running DS9, Nog would probably have been cleaning tables and committing petty thefts all the way through Season 7.

Exactly. Harry is back home, 70,000 light years from the Kazon, Vidiians, and a CO who's out to ruin his career. He's got a great pad, a gorgeous fiancée, a barista who knows what he likes, and a job that's about to get him that hollow pip after 8 months. And he spends the whole episode trying to get back.

I do think "NON SEQUITUR" sets a precedence for Kim in "TIMELESS".

Survivor's guilt.

In "NON SEQUITUR", he felt truly bad about Tom's fate and that Danny Byrd was over there suffering instead of him.

In "TIMELESS"... well, the entire future of Kim was full of survivor's guilt and wanting to change what happened.

In a strange way, the former episode help set up, emotionally, the latter.

Indeed. "Favorite Son" actually does the same, because Harry feels guilty about all the good things that came his way, largely because he was the only child of doting parents.

But "Non Sequiter" would have been way better if he had at least seemed conflicted.

Ohh yeah I remember that. But if they made Harry an alien they would have had to write for the character rather than just having a side kick good boy.

It's a boring episode, Harry is boring, everyone else is boring.. I love time travel but damn.
