Didn't they remake this in the 90s or early 2000s? I remember it being on afternoon TV

As far as I know, there hasn't been. I've only ever seen the reruns. Awhile back, there was news of it coming back, but as far as I know it was only just the original episodes being rebroadcast. If they did make new ones, then I certainly haven't heard of it or seen any of it.

OK I'll put this one down to foggy memory LOL. I thought the most recent ones I had seen were made later then 1985. Used to love this show.

Yeah, you probably saw reruns, as from what I remember, it reran for quite a long time in syndication. It was quite a cheap show to produce as you can tell it's low budget most of the time and the best available is in SD, so I think it's ripe for an update. And it's also the kind of show that can easily be sold to other markets. The color version is already its second version, as the original version was in Black & White. But yeah, I loved the show too. There's something timeless about it.

I just remember one episode where some scientist tried to figure out the dog was a meta canine, whatever that is, and the dog destroyed all his research
