The voive of Richard Poe, aka Gul Evek.

Mr. Scott

Commander
I like the voice of Richard Poe, the actor who played Gul Evek on DS9.

He sounds like some 1940's radio announcer. He has a very distinctive voice, and he should of done radio or news, and maybe he did.

I like how they had kind of an Evek character thread running through all the spinoffs in 1994 and 1995. Doing DS9, TNG, then VOY. Yeah, he's got a good Cardie voice.

Most of the actors they cast as Cardassians had great voices. My favorite, after Marc Alaimo as Gul Dukat and Andy Robinson as Garak, was Harris Yulin as the Cardassian in Duet, I think it was called.

Yeah, great voice. It helped make the bony nasty Cardassians more sympathetic. Evek seemed like the go-to guy the Cardies would send to interstellar meetings to argue their side. He had this quality of a perturbed soldier from a decent people having to defend themselves from bureaucrats and diplomats and other political devils from the greater interstellar community.

Yes, great voice, and it was fun to watch him thread his way through the various series.

Indeed - in the novels, Evek is further developed. He's said to be one of the greatest heroes in the Cardassian military. To serve on his ship is considered the high point of one's career. And he is still alive.

Oh? Which books. I liked his small part in A Stitch in Time...others?
