I've been considering starting a thread like this for some time now. This is the thread for all the new Kevin Smith news, podcast episodes, YouTube videos, interviews, promo material for his upcoming multimedia work (right now, mostly "Jay & Silent Bob Reboot"). I'm a huge fan, and I think there are a few others who can tolerate his bullshit.

Right, recently Kev & his team have started uploading old and new episodes of his comedy podcast Hollywood Babble-On (with Ralph Garman) as BabbleVisions on YouTube:

Of course, his Fatman Beyond podcast (with Marc Bernardin) has been available in video version on YT for some time now. The latest was a special "Spider-Man: Far From Home" episode:

And finally, in the news section, ahead of the trailer to be launched at SDCC, there's a promotional poster for "Jay & Silent Bob Reboot" with art showing the rebooted Bluntman & Chronic:

I always loved his View-Askewniverse movies. Dogma & Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back are my favorites.

I hope Kevin is doing OK after his health issues. He's lost so much weight I doubt Jay can call him "lunchbox" in Jay And Silent Bob Reboot.
Jay and Silent Bob Reboot is an upcoming American comedy film written, directed, and starring Kevin Smith. Smith has described the film as "literally the same fucking movie all over again,"referring to his 2001 comedy Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. It is intended to be the eighth film in the View Askewniverse.

Yeah, Kev said a while ago (before shooting started) that he had to go through the script again to replace all the fat jokes.

I absolutely love Kevin's solo movie reviews. The latest for Spider-Man Far From Home was frickin hysterical

Fuck, I haven't seen that one yet. I saw it pop up in my YT notifier, but wanted to wait till after I saw the movie, and then I forgot. Oh, well, something to watch until he drops the next podcast.

Actually, Kevin Smith doesn't so much review movies as he does ridiculously detailed recaps. I don't watch them unless i have absolutely no plans to see the movie in theater.

I wonder how it would have been handled if the Kevin Smith from Hercules the Legendary Journeys (he played Ares, and Iphicles) had survived making Warriors of Virtue 2 in China and had made his way to Hollywood. Which of them would have needed to add a middle initial?

I first heard of him in 2016. I watched Mallrats and Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back, and liked them. I think it’s kinda cool he named his daughter Harley Quinn.

Although whenever I see him mentioned anywhere, my mind always goes to Kevin Smith, the actor who played Ares on Xena.

If it had come down to it, Kev would probably just used his Twitter handle and used the pseudonym "THAT Kevin Smith".

So, you got some more to go?!

I think it’s kinda cool he named his daughter Harley Quinn.

It was actually his wife's idea. The way he tells this story (I don't quite remember when and where he told it, probably one of his "Night with" DVDs), it was when they just started dating and she was gonna take a bath at his place and asked for something to read (specifically a comic, I think, though she's not much of a fan), so he gave her "Batman Adventures: Mad Love", the graphic novel by Paul Dini & Bruce Timm telling the origin story of Harley Quinn. If I remember correctly, she didn't like the comic much, but she loved the name.

Harley's gonna be in Quentin Tarantino's new movie, by the way.

Also, for those of you living close enough and got enough dough to spare, Kev's gonna host a live reading of the unproduced 'Clerks III' script at the First Avenue Playhouse. It says "Kevin Smith & Friends", so you can make some guesses as to who gets to read the characters. Brian O'Halloran and Mewes are pretty safe bets, but I wouldn't count on Jeff Anderson being there to read Randall.

The 2nd Doctor Zee on BSG1980 was played by James Patrick Stuart, listed in the credits then as "Patrick Stuart". He uses all 3 names nowadays (like on GH) for obvious reasons ;)
