How would you rate The Sims 3?

Just a question guys, are the recommended system requirements 100% necessary?

I've heard some people say they weren't but I just wanted to know if anyone here has played it without the requirements. My video card and processor are the things on my computer that don't meet the requirements.

This might answer your question.

Thanks for the link! Yah, I think I'm gonna get the game and if it doesn't work, I'll just use my brothers computer :p. Sims 2 worked perfect on my computer, so I hope Sims 3 will at least run pretty good.

I why wouldn't it? There's only five years of development in computer hardware in between TS2 and TS3. ;)

So what exactly is the appeal of this game? I bought a bunch of EA Sims cards when they were half off at Best Buy, so I could conceivably buy this game for $25. But I'm not sure if how well it would hold my interest. I've never played any previous Sims games but I do know it's extremely popular and there's a lot of hype.

Or I could just preorder Left 4 Dead 2.

Well, I can tell you that TS2's gameplay quality is far superior to this current one, possibly because of all the expansions available and other features.

Are you using a laptop? I don't have a problem with crashing (I have a two-year-old Dell XPS that works well with gaming). I'm assuming the system requirements for Sims 3 are the same as (if not lower than) for Sims 2.

I think I'm going to pass on The Sims 3. But now I have credit I don't know what to spend on. Maybe Left 4 Dead 2.

I haven't played it yet and, maybe I am crazy, but I like the original series of Sims games better. I just stopped enjoying it once it went 3D.

I must've downloaded a shitload of skins and objects for the original Sims game and expansions. I was doing some superhero comic stories, too, until Marvel started threatening to sue sites that had X-Men and Marvel-related skins for download. When Sims 2 came out, I didn't even bother with storybooks and videos.
