The Riker Manoeuvre/lean.

Elephant999

I know Jonathon Frakes suffered with back pain and that is the reason why he leans on consoles and puts his leg up, but every time he does it or steps over the back of a chair, really cracks me up.

Do you think the writers encouraged this during the Series? If I was sat at Ops or at the helm, I would feel a little intimidated by his stance.

A little bit like how the Picard Manoeuvre ended up being how Picard kept pulling down on the top of his uniform. ;)

And notice, he never did that when Wesley was at the helm. He only did it to Data.

('Riker Maneuver' performed at Data's station, while Data is checking sensor data.)
Data: (whispers) Sir, is that a new shower gel you are using?
Riker: (whispers) Why, yes, Data. It is. Do you like it?
Data: (turns to Riker's crotch area and deeply inhales) I believe I detect a touch of... lilac.

:lol: That will forever wreck any episode where he does that with Data.

I’m also a Brooklyn 99 fan and Riker probably wears Canyon Stank for real men!
