The Most Disliked Episode of LDS, 2023 Edition - Season 1...

Farscape One

Welcome to our bi-yearly 'Most Disliked Episode' games! Now that the 'Least Disliked Episode' games hosted by BlueStuff (who inspired me to create these games, so thank you very much for paving the way) have concluded, we can begin the opposite side of that coin.

Here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your most favorite or the one you deem the 'best.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode.

No tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode because you feel they would threaten your preferred episode's chance to win. Pretty simple. Enjoy!

The first season of LOWER DECKS... a very solid season. And quite honestly, until SNW came along and PRODIGY finished its first season, LOWER DECKS was BY FAR the best first season of the Kurtzman era. There's honestly a good amount of episodes to choose from to start saving.

But I'm going to start with the end, "No Small Parts".

This show does season finales extremely well, and the trend started here. Not only was the story and plot engaging, but we got the Titan debuting, complete with Riker and Troi guest starring! But the one thing that clinches this as my first save?

They made the Pakleds an actual, credible threat here. I NEVER thought it possible to make the Pakleds... THE PAKLEDS... an actual danger! And LOWER DECKS somehow managed to turn possibly the biggest joke of a species in the entire franchise (certainly from the Berman era, at the very least) into a legitimate threat.

These writers are absolutely genius.

FIrst of all, in my opinion there is no "most disliked episode of Lower Decks" - I love them all! :adore: But... Some I love slightly more than others.
"No Small Parts" would have been my first save, so now that that's safe, I'll save "Veritas" - especially for Tendi as "The Cleaner" (so awesome!), but especially for Rutherford's "Gorn wedding?!" - "Ha! Stupid Gorns!" and other adorable Rutherfordisms :adore: :luvlove: :adore: :luvlove:

The Star Trek movies can be some of my favourites of the franchise, so an episode taking the mick of them is a highlight for me, so I'm saving "Crisis Point"

(I would have saved "No Small Parts" as it's a fantastic episode)

I'm with Cyfa... there are no bad episodes of LOWER DECKS. Just degrees of good... which I suppose is another way to interpret 'most disliked'.

My next save is "Temporal Edict".

The entire idea of Buffer Time and the ensuing chaos without it was just hilarious.

Personally, S1 started off a bit hit-and-miss, though it ended strongly. It is my lowest-ranked season.

Moist Vessel is a lot of fun though and it's an easy save. Tendi befriending the officer trying to ascend had many fun moments, as did the Mariner and Freeman story.

"Cupid's Errant Arrow"
"Terminal Provocations"

I'll save "Terminal Provocations" the Badgey plot is a lot better than the Fletcher plot (he's the worst).

"You know what they say, keep your friends close, and your enemies way the hell somewhere else."

- Mariner

"Cupid's Errant Arrow"
