I'm really looking forward to this, I liked Season 1 a lot and it looks like this season will be even better.
There are some more videos they've released, but it'll only let me post 5 videos, so I'll have to post them later.

Looking forward to this! It was a pretty shocking cliff hanger so I want to see where they go from there.

Here's the other videos I wasn't able to post yesterday.

I just binged the first season over the last week or so. I was a big fan of the first book (less so the other two) so I was naturally put off by a few of the larger character changes but overall I was entertained and (mostly) engaged by the story (which is just different enough that I honestly couldn't guess what would happen next).

The finale seemed like a cop-out to me, and the meta joke about budget had me rolling my eyes, but I'm ready to pick up the new season so they must be doing something right.

Hard to believe that The Beast is putting up with Julia and her revenge scheme. Julia's part in this show has always annoyed me. Penny finally bad-mouthed the wrong person.

I have just "discovered" this show (Harry Potter for Adults? WTF?) and i am binging the first season. It's now 6am here and i am at 1.10 and it gets better by the episode. Each one is surpassing the previous episode as my favorite and i am lucky to stick with it because the first 3-4 episodes were very weird and didn't flow well together but after that it just ramps up continously.

I now need to get some sleep and i am looking forward to conclude the first season in a few hours.. it's such a cool show :techman:

Screw sleep and i binged to the end and watched the first new episode so at least this cliffhanger pain was spared.

I have to say the show is awesome.. as i said it needed a few episodes to really get going but then it got better each episode.. i love the mix of humor one moment and the next something truly horrible is revealed or happens (two most shocking moments was seeing child molestation and in the season finale the rape scene.. that really got to me and i hate to see this on screen).

I even got used to these weird magic hand gestures that looked sometimes more like going out clubbing while under the influence of some weird chemical mix  I love the characters and the way they deal with each other.. especially Penny and Quentin. Penny has become my favorite character just because he has the most awesome one liners bashing nerd culture.. that got some very good laughs from me and i still get gross out shivers and laughs thinking about how Alice got Master Magician powers :guffaw::guffaw: (that is the most gross and low brow but just so funny thing i have seen on TV in a long while).

I'm curious to see how Season 2 plays out.. Julia is playing one hell of a dangerous game that will surely blow up in her face and the new villain seems interesting enough and i wonder how the rest of the group will get involved. All considered i have finally found another show i can watch and anticipate.. something that has become rare in recent years for me.

I finally finished my rewatch Season 1 and watched the season premiere just in time to watch episode 2.
The Season is off to a great start so far.
I was surprised how quickly and easily they resolved the cliffhanger, I was expecting a lot more time to spent trying to find a way to bring the others back. I was not expecting the literal deus ex machina we ended up with.
The Beast/Martin's constant singing and Julia's reaction to it cracked me.
The test for the crowns with all of the '90s trivia was funny.
Do we know if Kady is going to be coming back at all this season?

I thought I caught a glimpse of Kady in the coming attractions. The Beast seems too hearty with his singing and skippy stride, but that is how he was when he entered their classroom for the first time; gouging out eyes and starting to smother Quentin. I guess he just enjoys his power which makes it hard to believe that he would want to destroy magic like they think. I wonder if there is another reason magic is disappearing.

I just assumed it was the gay stereotype about show tunes.

The beast is gay right?

Music is just noise to me.

Bah!

Are these real songs, or are they giving us cleverly disguised clues about future episodes?

This show needs a crossover episode with The OA, having both teams perform their interpretive dance magic at each other would be amusing.

Wow, that was a hell of an episode.
I never thought I'd actually feel bad for Marina, but damn she did not deserve that.
It was pretty surprising to see them actually kill off The Beast so soon, I figured he'd at least last to the end of the season.
It will be interesting to see what happens with Julia and her quest for revenge against Renard.
I wonder if what Ember did in The Wellspring will actually have any kind of effect?
From the preview it looks like Alice might not be staying dead long.
It amazes me at times how well this show can combine seriously fucked up, dark stuff, like pretty much everything Renard is doing, with funny stuff like Ember crapping in the Wellspring and the Beast's reaction. Not a lot of shows are able to do that as well as they do on the Magicians.

Well, it is sure dangerous to help Julia or be her friend. It's likely that Reynard would have gotten to Marina eventually anyway (maybe not her cat) but Julia has been involved in harming Quentin and Kady's mother. She is totally driven. Hopefully Prof. Sunderland can help Penny again because I'd like to see him back with the group. And, most importantly, can the well-spring be de-pooped? Plenty of poop in this show between Ember and Elliott's fertilization project.

Good point about being Julia's friend, maybe at this point Q and the others would be better off just staying away from her.

Well, Julia has caused the horrible death of another one. Her revenge plotting keeps helping Reynard kill off hedge witches.Brakebills was smart to separate her this time. For someone who was sort of the star of the show, Quentin really doesn't seem very bright. He's more emotional than intelligent, I guess.

Yeah, Julia just leaving the woman to be killed, or worse, by Reynard was a shitty move.
Quinton is definitely not thinking straight when it comes to Alice right now.
The stuff with the Lorians (sp?) and the castle was good. I feel sorry for the poor map maker.
The names and locations in Filory definitely feel like an adult take on the stuff you find in stories like the Oz and Wonderland books. First we got the Flying Forest and now The Cock Barrens.
I wonder if the reference to Reynard's son is a set up for something?

Yeah, it's hard to believe he is the man his mother says he is. He's probably a psychopath at the very least. And that bit about Julia being able to kill Reynard at the moment of giving birth--I've given birth 3 times and I gotta tell ya I couldn't have concentrated on ANYTHING else at the time. Quentin feels very guilty about causing Alice's death, but she would have killed them all and now maybe she'll succeed.

Haha, good point about killing Reynard while giving birth.
I realized after my last post, that pretty much everybody in this episode was getting fucked with in some way.
We had Alice's Niffin and Quentin, Julia and Reynar'd older victim, and Eliot and Margo and the Lorians.

I get a feeling we were supposed to believe that the baby ended up being one of our heroes as the 'he's a very powerful man' suggested that it was someone we already know, if the standard drama twist is observed - but all of the male protagonists seem a little too old to be twenty years old. Arjun Gupta is 29, Jason Ralph is 30, and Hale Appleman is 31.
