First off, I very enjoyed watching this episode. I had a blast watching it with my 11yo son.

I stayed spoiler free so the bi-generation was a surprise. As much as I enjoyed this, I think they missed an opportunity to properly close out the Tennant era. Before the episode, I was so sure 14’s regeneration would be brought on because he was finally “ready to go”. A total reversal from “I don’t want to go”. I guess this could still happen in a future special.

Old 2 was explained as part of 'season 6b' where the Celestial Intervention Agency had the Doctor do some errands for them prior to his forced regeneration and exile to Earth.
Wow, that's rubbish. Do a job for the Time Lords and then get punished by them for doing so.

I just couldn't get over the Toymaker instantly transforming two UNIT redshirts into a horrifyingly weird state of undeath by permanently imprisoning them within ball pit balls, brrrrrrrr (and the Toymaker's way of neutralising opponents in a fight was very reminiscent of Jobu Tupaki's method of abstract killing in Everything Everywhere All At Once).

It was good but went on too fast. I feel like David Fourteenant should have got absorbed back into Ncuti at the end and made his peace with the situation. The ending felt too much like another go at "Journey's End" with MC Tennant. I loved seeing Kate back and NPH was really good and I've never watched Mel but it was nice to see her too. The ball game was wild but whatever, that's DW for you. I did like two Doctors hanging out. I wasn't expecting any other Doctors to show up under the circumstances, but deep down I wish there was a five minute short of all the new series Doctors just hanging out in a pub talking shit at one another, especially Smith and Capaldi.

I hope they're not prepping a sitcom about he domestic life of 10/14 as he gets older.

Doctor Was.

Someone has to assassinate Disney before that happens! What, he's already dead, you say?

But we know better now.

That wasn't old two, it was perfectly reasonable looking 23.

And then the Androgum infusion (ironically predicting things like CRISPR gene editing) given to the Doctor so they could graft the Rassilon Imprimature from him into Chessene would have gone backwards down the time stream, suggesting that at some point Ten tried to eat Rose. Or Thirteen had a nibble at Yaz.
Pretty sure that’s a fanfic already in some corner of the web.

The Toymaker hinted at messing about with the Jigsaw of the Doctor's life - This was RTD chance to recon the Timeless Child fiasco and the fate of Galifrey - Especially as he talked about the Master. The change to the origin of the Doctor and the Time Lords could of been the Toymaker reshaping reality to mess around with the Doctor to literally "toy" with him and question his own identity to such a degree that's why 10th face returned after Jodie's regeneration.

Stopping the Toymaker and undoing his actions - since you got a prize after all could of been a way out of this story arc. RTD hinted with the jigsaw line and then moved away from it and we got bi regeneration instead and Two identical Tardis time machines.

The theory was first proposed in the book 'The DisContinuity Guide' written primarily by Paul Cornell way back in 1994 as a way to explain discrepencies in the second Doctor's appearance in the reunion specials, as well as the knowledge, or lack thereof, that the third, fourth, fifth and sixth Doctor's seem to possess regarding certain events and encounters that they otherwise wouldn't know about unless the second Doctor had been a part of them post season 6.

Here's the list of stories taking place in Season 6b.

I wouldn't hold my breath on the fate of Gallifrey being changed. RTD never liked the Time Lords to begin with which is why he initially made the decision to make them extinct in the revived series. But also to consider in The Writer's Tale RTD describes the Doctor's feelings about the loss of Gallifrey and the Time Lords as mirroring his own feelings following the death of his mother, saying something along the lines of "since my mother is never returning, neither should the Time Lords." As it is, Moffat later regretted the decision to bring the Time Lords back and issued a public apology to fandom over it, and with Chibnall restoring their extinction, I don't see RTD undoing it ever.

As for the Timeless Child, it's been my personal theory that it creates new story possibilities that reinvigorated RTD's interest in writing Doctor Who and therefore we shouldn't be expecting that to go anywhere either.

He's a fricking Watcher.

That would be a awesome callback. :-)

Yep. He really does want to bring people like Slyvester McCoy for example and maybe interact with the current doctor

"The DoctorVerse"

On the commentary track, Russel inferred that he considers Tennant's story finished. and has no plans for him right now, and Yasmin in her later appearances will provide updates for Ncuti on what he's been up to with the family without us seeing him. I suppose he just means that he himself is done with the character and won't be writing anymore stories for 14, if Disney wants Tennant and Tate back for a special or movie, it'll be with other writers
