The End of an Era: Discontinued products, services, and defunct companies

For disc players I've always preferred Sony. They don't seem to be phasing out blu-ray players any time soon.

Spiced Apple Rings
The cored apple 'discs' in the red cinnamon juice.
Lucky Leaf & Musselmans were the last 2 companies to make it.
Both discontinued due to lack of sales.

I was grocery shopping recently (I now cannot remember the store), and they had Mr. PIBB in the beverage case, and I was, "Holy Sh*t. Mr PIBB." Because I couldn't remember the last time I'd seen it. I bought a couple of cans and drank them over the course of a couple of days. They were surprisingly good, and not the Dr. Pepper lite that I was expecting.

I miss Mr. Pibb. Not Pibb Extra. The original, real Mr. PIBB. Just isn't the same.
I find that Pibb is closer to it's original flavor than Dr. Pepper is to it's earlier mixture. DP is vile.

I can only find it at one Jewel in my area and no other store, so I generally get 3 or 4 twelve-packs at a time.

JoAnn Fabrics has declared bankruptcy. All its stores are set to close in the coming days/weeks.
My significant other's quite irked about this. I'd've been similarly irked that my my formerly favorite art house cinema is closing up. But since they gave up on showing documentaries......

What I find interesting about living in the Pacific Northwest is that a lot of these companies never seem to get a foothold here; we have our own local chains that offer essentially the same things as the national stores.
