Again, just like Trump...

The resemblance really is uncanny, isn't it? :shifty:

It really is... I am going to reuse that analogy with some of my buddies who are Patriot fans. Mercifully - they tend to be a bit more lighthearted when teased. For example, one of them said I was wrong to call the Pats "cheaters" - because it is correctly pronounced "cheatAHS."

Re: The Assassination of Brady's Legacy By the Fat Coward Deflator McN

National news media putting out reports that opposing teams complain about having to bring their own gatorade to Foxboro because the gatorade the Pats give them is sometimes warm, and the PATRIOTS are the ones whining?

:guffaw:

Your disconnect from reality is impressive!

Belichick actually commented on it, a rare break from him just ignoring the reporters and moving on to the next week:

"It's not an uncommon problem," he said. "We ended up having to signal some of our plays offensively [when] we couldn't get them in. We look at it as something you have to be ready for every week and we practice it. So, home, away, I don't really think there is any common denominator on that."

Then, without prompting, Belichick referenced "a couple things from earlier in the week."

"I just think overall, it's kind of sad really to see some stories written that obviously have an agenda to them, with misinformation and anonymous-type comments. You know, writing about warm drinks and trash cans and stuff like that. I think it's a sad commentary, and I think it's gone to a pretty low level. It's sunk pretty deep," he said.

Re: The Assassination of Brady's Legacy By the Fat Coward Deflator McN

After making sure to get it out into the public, the Steelers have now decided NOT to file an official complaint. guess feeding it to 'unnamed sources' and bitching in the post-game was enough, seeing as how the Pats don't actually control or provide it, so it would be tough to prove if actually pressed on it. Steelers have left up the report on their website about how it magically cleared up whenever they went towards the Pats to complain about it, though. They've also entertainingly both blamed it on mistakes late in the game AND said that it cleared up by halftime, so can take that whichever way you want.

Bad look for the Steelers either way, coach gave them an excuse for losing and a focus to bitch about instead of focusing on next week's game and how to clear up the mistakes that happened on the field (like not bothering to cover Gronk repeatedly). Loser mentality that tends to feed on itself...

People who complain about Patriots = whiny losers.

People who complain about people complaining about Patriots = loyal fans.

Re: The Assassination of Brady's Legacy By the Fat Coward Deflator McN

Somehow everyone got wrapped up in #radiogate yesterday, and forgot to mention that the Steelers' Tight End coach apparently assaulted a Patriots fan on the way to the locker room at halftime. You'd think it would be worth mentioning as an actual story instead of this nonsense, no?

I can only assume it was Belichick in a fake beard trying to head in and steal their playbooks or toilet paper or something...

Re: The Assassination of Brady's Legacy By the Fat Coward Deflator McN

That's not cheating. It's assault. And if anything has been proven by Goodell's punishment playbook, assault doesn't count for nearly as much. Just ask ol' Ray Rice.

I think most football enthusiasts of all stripes will agree that Goodell is most of everyone's problem in the entire bloody league, all team partisanship aside.

Let's just hope no one was smoking the happy weed... that's punishable by death.

Every time I hear a scandal referred to as -gate, it makes me want to travel back in time and rename that hotel to Waterscrotum.

Re: The Assassination of Brady's Legacy By the Fat Coward Deflator McN

Yep, I'm long since sick of it. It's just lazy reporting to make everything sound like more of a scandal. Part of our exciting journalistic race to the bottom. At this rate, someday people will look back at news of the era and even Faux News will look classy by comparison.

And only point in bringing it up was that while ESPN has tried to make the headphone thing a big story, they only just got around to casually mentioning that a Steelers coach assaulted someone during the game. Kinda buried the lead there, didn't they? Admittedly didn't fit the narrative, but seems worth a mention in passing. "Pats won, cheated, dirty trick plays, TE Coach assaulted someone, warm gatorade." Yep, crushed that story...

Settle down. That story is also being talked about. You posted the link to ESPN's article about it for Christ's sake.

Re: The Assassination of Brady's Legacy By the Fat Coward Deflator McN

In general, since the "Deflategate" thing is over, or at least until the next appeal is heard and slapped down, can we close this thread and wrap things back into the other thread? No reason for this to be out on its own anymore, unless the warm gatorade thing really gets some traction. No burns that I'm aware of, though, so we're probably safe.

Which was less than an hour old. The headset thing has already run a couple media cycles, despite happening like 45 minutes after the headset thing. It was also the first mention here, so which was being talked about more?

If you're prefer to just see them visually, visit the main ESPN site. Headset failure is top story, Steelers assistant coach accused of assault is #5 below it.

Care to discuss it, then? How many games should be be banned? Which draft picks would you like? ;)

Physician, heal thyself. :p

Why i used quotes there. Either way, since that's how it's been identified, seemed appropriate to use the same words when referencing it. Same request, though, let's kill this one. Literally case closed, Brady's on the field.
