This reminds me of the time I was in New Zealand in 2003. From a time zone point of view, I was on the wrong sde of the world to watch the ICC World Cup in South Africa, so it was too a case of going to sleep before the end of one side's batting, then waking up to catch the conclusion. Although I did make the effort once to stay up to watch New Zealand play (and lose to) India.

Quite fun times overall. Fascinating too, as in the hospital I was working in everyone was backing New Zealand, or India, or Pakistan, or Sri Lanka (the household favourite) or England (my team ) but (with one exception) not Australia.

Anyway. Back to the game, and it looks like England have made a not great effort in their batting innings (228-9 after 50 overs). Again. Although both Strauss and the tail have had a decent stab at it. Again.

I said all along we should never have played as Redshirts. there's a distinct 'Trek' vibe to that kit.

Nice to see someone get a ton and for Australia to finally hit a six.

It will be interesting to see what happens for game 4 with Ponting coming back and to see if England wields the axe.

Well, I stopped watching at 2 for 100-odd and next time I check England is all out for 220. A bit of a low score but good bowling and they can still win it, much like Australia defended 249 at Lords a week ago.

Edit: England meekly gives up the Natwest series. Good to see Lee back on fire and getting a five wicket haul.
