Remember the episode in season 3 where Locke blew up the sub? Eagle-eyed viewers spotted that Locke was wet after the explosion, and why would he have been wet UNLESS he had actually hidden the sub somewhere, swam back, then blown up something else to make it look like he'd blown up the sub? People posted images with "COULD THIS BE THE HIDDEN SUB!?" circled and many were CONVINCED that it would turn out Locke had really just hidden the sub.

But two seasons later it hasn't been revealed that Locke hid the sub and I'm pretty sure it's never going to be.

I think the picture frames changing and the missing guy in the Dharma pic are the same as this. Simple scene to scene continity errors. If they actually were important plot points then they probably would have been accompanied by the dramatic "THIS IS AN IMPORTANT PLOT POINT" music as important plot points usually are. I'm 50/50 on if the girl seen standing behind Sun when she was talking to Christian (in the episode with the Dharma photo) was also just a mistake, though I think that could turn out to be something (Claire.)

Of course I'd be happy to be proven wrong in season 6 when the mystery of the changing photo frames and the random missing dharma guy are addressed in dramatic fashion!

Locke's missing sub will return in the final episode of the series. Just when things are looking hopeless for Jack to blow up the core of the evil volcano at the heart of the Island, Locke will show up in his sub and shoot down Widmore's pursuing ship, and yell "you're all clear kid! now let's blow this thing and get home!"

Ok, but where did the time travel element enter that changed the photos?

Clearly, in the left one, the kid died and one of the pictures was the LAST picture of him and they put it in the special frame. In the other one, the kid lives and the picture is just one of a number of other pictures that features him growing older.

Yes, but when and how exactly do you think was the time changed?

I don't get this myself. I haven't found myself putting simply continuity errors down to time travel since Enterprise finished.

That's a great question that I'm waiting to see an answer to. Obviously this is something that is going to come into play. First, we see evidence of time changing and then later we get the time travel stuff. They're clearly setting something up!

As for when, well, I'd guess shortly after that "last" picture. I don't know who or why.

Well thats the $3.2M question. I'm still waiting for some explanation myself. They went through the trouble of changing the wall. Why?

Referring to Ben and the pictures-why take them down? They were hanging in the Receiving Center and once Ben did his Hitler imitation who would even bother going into it? There weren't anymore new recruits to process. So he wouldn't have seen the Survivors in the shot. And even while Dharma was still active, why would Ben look at boring pictures on the wall? The odds of him looking closely and remembering the faces in the photos are slim. Familiarity breeds contempt and those things were around in Ben's life for a long time, based on how young he was in '77 and how old he was when he gassed the Dharma people.

This show is so crazy, I actually believe they could make this work.
